Juvi Blueline Angelfish

Mine just really turned a corner and is now feeding well and not nearly as shy as she had been. I was really worried as she didn't appear to be feeding but all the time she didn't appear to be losing weight so she was definately feeding on something. thats the beauty of having her in the fuge, there always seems to be something to snack on. The yellow on her head is really starting to break up quickly and I can see blue lines coming through from underneath.

I also see LA has them on sale for $149.00, thats a great price for a juvie.

What do you all think about adding a smaller juvie blueline to my existing changeling which is at about 2 1/2 inches. Would love to get a pair/harem going for sure.

It doesn't take long for the small ones to around and from what I've seen with mine and here on RC they start to eat prepared food pretty quick.

I think you should go for a pair or trio now especially at this price. So far my trio gets along pretty good.

Sure is hard not to buy a couple more at that great price!

Nice looking baby, mine are all eating great now and seem to get along for the most part. Will post new pics in a few days.

In only 23 days the juv coloration on the 2 1/4" BL is almost completely gone.

don't have a good pic of all 3 yet

All 3 are constantly looking for food and nipping around rocks. :)

It sure does fade fast, only the newer little one I have has the Yellow deep bar behind the eye. And I wish I could get them where the body is almost all black with no blue lines yet.

Those are still looking incredible Kevin.

Would it be safe to say that if you ordered 2 of the "small" 1.5 - 2 1/8 inch bluelines from LiveAquaria that over time you'd probably end up with a pair?

Forgive me, just trying to understand how all this works. Are they similar to clowns and anthias where the more dominate fish changes sex and then you're left with a pair / harem?

It's possible. I'm fortunate to see 2 Watanabe female pair up with the dominant fish emerged and transformed into a male and also had a harem of Flame angels with one emerged as the male.

I have a pair of Blueline angels (now 6" & 4.5") that's been together for almost a year now and the larger BL still chases the smaller one around when in sight. The Meredithi pair (got them when they were 3" and now 6" & 4.5") been together for 20 months now and the chasing only stopped a few months back but they don't hang out together.

If both (pair or harem) live long enough one will most likely emerge as the male.

I couldn't take it anymore. 12 pages of this thread is too much to ignore :) My little guy weil be on his way from LA soon. Wish me luck!

You should both be very happy with these, they seem to be very hardy and take to eating within a couple of days.
We all eventually succumb to there beauty and have to have one!

Good Luck with your new purchases!

Well after a week in solitary, My purple tang has decided to let him out in the mainstream.

He's doing great and eating like a juvie should. :fun4:

Mine are currently in their bags floating in my QT. I tried a tiny bit of food in the bags, they're both very interested and might even be eating already. Only another 20/30 minutes to go.. Will try for some photos tonight.

That's the great thing about these is they are so healthy and start eating almost immediately. Congrats to you.

I am sure you will be fine, can't wait to see some pics from you all.

I have pulled the trigger on one more from Max, he has it in quarantine and I should pick up this Sunday. I just wish my adult Blueline would pay some attention to the little ones.:hammer:

Another one? :) I know they're very difficult to resist. While you're at RHS can you check on my Multi pair? Better yet, how about a pic or two?

Thanks!

I saw another one at a LFS near me for 149.00, Really tempted now. The fish is around 2-3"s and was eating like a pig.

I think one of mine suffered some shipping damage. After coming back home from work, it's got a small bit of white 'fluff' on one of it's gill covers, down near where the little 'spike' is. No other white marks or discoloration, both acting normal picking at the rock and coral in the QT/Frag tank i have.

I suspect he/she took a bump in shipping, so hopefully it'll go down over the next day or two.
