Kalk for cheep

Its all calcium hydroxide. Plenty of people are successfully using the food-grade pickling lime in place of aquarium labeled kalkwasser.

I bought ALL my chemical supplements as food-grade (or better) quality salts, easy enough to mix them with RO into however concentrated (relative to saturation, that is) you want them. 50lb bag of calcium chloride for 30 bucks? 40lb bag of magnesium chloride for 22? 6lb bags of epsom salts for $4.99? Yes please :)

That product is is cheaper. BRS caclium hydroxide at a simialr volume( 4.5 lbs/ 1 gallon) costs $2.87 per pound vs $2.08 for the bulk foods stuff. Even the 5 gallon size ( 22.5 lbs ) from BRS works out to $2.44 per lb.

If you buy 40 lbs it works out to $1.83 a pound. Add a pound of raw Spanish peanuts for $3.09 and you qualify for $5 shipping for your order.

That makes it $1.90 a pound to your door.

40 lbs of lime ! That's one heck of a lot of KW :crazy1:
