Kessil A350

Kessil's are great lights many people out there that I have seen with large aquariums usually get the wrong amount of Kessil's to light up there tanks. When they really need to get one or more extra for the correct overlapping light spread. Also the correct height, intensity and spectrum settings are very important. Many people out there complain about coral bleaching and blame it on the lights when in reality it's all about coral placement and chemistry. Then they end up selling their lights thinking that a higher wattage LED fixture fixes the problem. A light meter is very helpful this will guide you in coral placement.

Here's a tank with Kessils and SPS Corals in a 300 gallon using A350N

I've had 2 a350w since they first came out and I love them. Is anyone using them with a Reef Angel? Or do I need the 360?

You can use a controller with any of them, but if you want to control the dimming and color then you will need the A360s and the only control cables for them go to the apex and reefkeeper.

So I'm looking at the a360w and I see that aquacave is selling them for $349. Is that right? Everyone else is selling for $399, am I missing something??

And than I see this

What's the difference?

And is the only difference between the 350w and the 360w the fact that you can use a controller with the 360w? I've read so much tonight I can't remember any of it lol

My understanding is that the a360w is now the older version. They just came out with a360we which is supposed to be 15% brighter. Thus the w only verso is starting to be discounted. Reefgeek has 10% off valentine's sale right now. It's a good buy.

For 72" you will need at least 3 Kessils. I have a 36" wide and originally only had one and it wasn't enough.

I think people put WAY too much emphasis on ramping lights up and down. There's been millions of amazing reefs with lights being turned on and off, so with that said I think the 350 is a better value, and side by side looks better than the 360. If it was me I would save the money and get 4 350's instead of three 360's... Or three 350's and two deep ocean blue a150's.

Thanks guys. What is everyone doing for moon lights with these? Separate led moonlight lot or will these dim down low enough for moonlight?

You could most likely get away with one as a moonlight in the center, but if you ran more than one it would most likely be too bright. I don't run moonlights at the moment.

no the 360 has more power, also make sure you get the latest 360, they have updated them to resolve issues
