Kessil A350

I'm suprised this thread hasn't been touched, anyone care to share?

Everyone is too busy playing with their new Kessils. lol Lota big holidays too; May the forth be with you, and Cinco de Mayo, and today national tequila hangover day.

I have had mine on the 29 biocube at my shop for a few weeks now. I had the A150W Sky Blue over it for nine months and swapped it for the A350. I tuned it at about 30% on both colors and it looks great. But people keep playing with it and leaving it on full power so i got to keep an eye on it before i bleach every thing.

Oh crap, full power over a 29?! That's something to definitely be careful about.

People need to post their pics and their input on these new Kessils! Been out long enough! Diablo Corals posted some pictures of the 350 over a 57 Illuminata as well.

How many a350's?

How many a350's?

Any ideas on how many a350's (narrow) I would need for a 48 inch 75 gallon tank (24 inches deep)?

Or would the wide be a better choice?

...and sps is in the mix as well. Thanks!

Anybody have any thoughts on how many of these and which style would be good for a 96x36x36 SPS dominant tank?

I'd start with two of the A350s -- narrow or wide depends on how far above the water line you're planning to mount them, as well as how much intensity you want. I think either will have the spread, but the narrows will have a spotlighting effect if hung too low.

I received mine yesterday, full blast is a sapphire blue. I was hoping for a less tinted spectrum but it's nice overall. The dimmest setting provides a beautiful moonlight though

You will need 3 minamum and go with the wide, I have two on a 48" wide tank, they hang inside my canapi about 8" off the water. I need to rais them a few inches to get them to cover from side to side.

Here are a few pics of my tank, The first 7 pics the lights are set at about 80% blue and 35% white. the rest are random,

Any chance of seeing a couple of pics? One with the Biocube under the A150W along with it currently under the A350W? I'm trying to decide what to get for my JBJ NC28. leaning toward the Kessil A350W though.

Before; A150W Sky Blue 10K (this has been on there for 10 months.)

Thanks so much for the comparison frick! Looks awesome.

I think I'm set on one a350 or a350w set similar to the sky blue in the a150. Now I just need to find $400 under the couch cushions. Oh well, I need to wait for my tank to get more established before I start adding corals anyways.

How do you like the coverage over the NC with the a350. Looks like there may not be a need to go with the a350w on such a small cube.

For a narrow reflector the A350 does the job well. I just need to make sure the intensity stays at 30% or i will have a coral BBQ. When i get the wide angel tunas in I will get some pics over my 40gallon.

Awesome. Thanks Frick.

I figure with the intensity of it I could keep it a good 8-10" over the surface to get good coverage while still having enough intensity. With me just getting back into the hobby a month ago after years off I didn't realize how new the a350 is. It's interesting to see them used in different applications.

Just ordered this light 10% off never hurt! I'm going to hang this on quite high about 18" above the tank over my 20"x20"x20" cube. S/b here next week sometime. Won't have any good pics until my build is nearing completion though. :)

I'd love to see a pic even if things aren't up and looking good just yet. I'd just like to see the spread and how "full" the light looks in the cube. I can't wait to get one over my nano cube. It's just that I've got a few pressing purchases to get out of the way first.
