Kessil A360WE

Have a 40 with similar dimensions as you and my 350w is about 8" above the water which seem perfect. Had these fixtures for almost a year now. Par is about 450 at the water surface and 50-60 par at the sandbed. Thats with 40-45 percent on both knobs intensity

I just lowered it so the light spill is non-existent. It's about 5-6inches from the water surface. You think that is too low?

I actually like it the way it was, higher up...it makes me smile when people talk about light spillage. Satonki's tank is one of my favorites and one of the reasons is because how high his lights are (about +3ft front the tank, not kessils though).

I currently have two Ecotech Radion Gen3 Pros over my 90 gallon. I am sooo close to pulling the trigger on two A360W's but am hesitant. I have an Apex Lite so I would have to get the VDM module, plus the connecting cable, plus the controller cable, and upgrade my Apex Lite to Fusion which I am aprehensive about doing as well.

HELP!

Don't stress about Apex Fusion. That piece is awesome.

I agree! I know how to create profiles for variable speed outlets as I created extensive profiles for my Tunze's but Fusion made the chore of setting up the Kessils so simple it was almost stupid. Fusion is an absolutely wonderful addition for the Apex. After 5 or so years of running an Apex and about 20 years of running Neptune Aqua Controllers, Fusion is by far the best tool ever for setting up and managing a controller.

Got my eight Kessil 360WE's installed yesterday.

What are you using to attach and position the Kessil units on the rack? I've just got mine on J hooks at the moment. I can't believe you have switched out the lights again. I think I just watched you and Jim covering the LED upgrade last year :)

Everyone,

I am running the new Kessil controller...and I have to say...sofar I really like it. I can bring the Color and Intensity down to 5%.

Anyway....I am adding my first set of Yumas to my tank, and was wondering what ramp profiles people are using for this coral. I have. 65g with only one 360WE for now...a second to be added in the upcoming months. The Kessil Controller has a coral acclimation profile, but since I don't have any corals as of now, I have nothing to compare it to.

Just looking to get an idea of what I should be running Color and Intensity wise, so I don't lose the new Yumas that are coming in the next 2 weeks.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

Just got my 2 up last night. I can't believe the color. It's really amazing. Everything from coral to fish look better. Added such a depth to the tank. I'm switching from 4-t5s and have the Kessils in my canopy, but am ordering a couple goodenecks, and removing the canopy asap

I can move my yuma's with my 150 Kessil on my 120 tank if I aim it at them for a couple of hours my usual light is a 6 bulb tek elite, so I would imagine that you will need to start low and ramp up over time. PS I am only playing with the Kessil 150 over my main tank.

Ok. Thanks for the info. With the controllability of the 360WE using their controller, I am assuming that I will not only need to keep the intensity down, but keep the color in the blue/UV spectrum for a good portion of the photo period. Luckily I have an alcove/cave area that will give them the low light/ low flow they require.

In terms of your Yumas....if you have any do's and dont's, I would appreciate your input. Thanks.

I'm using a custom mount I put together. If you are interested in the same articulating setup, send me a PM. I bought extra parts for several more lights. It's ideal for canopy mounting.

In the next few weeks, Jim will be releasing a new 3 part LA Fish Guys episode that covers the entire light swap. That said, I ran the other lights for over 3 years. The tank did great under them but I was looking for an upgrade that provided full Apex control and I have to say, I am very pleased with the results. The tank is doing great under the new lights.

slief I sent you a PM. Firemountian, I have 2 tanks with Kessils daisy changed. Ultimately I would like to run them at different intensities. What inputs does the controller have? Right now I just have to have all 8 daisy changed together and on the same everything.

I'm using an Apex and all eight of mine are daisy chained with the Apex controlling the master one. I will likely add a second Kessil control cable so I can spit them up 4 and 4. It would give me a little bit more control flexibility but given that all of mine are over a single tank, it's not really needed.

The Kessil controller has 2 ports allowing you to run 2 sets of lights at different configurations.
