I have a pait of 360's and some 160's. Has anyone used a third party extension/link cable on their lights? Trying to find other(cheaper) options to link the Kessil's and was going to order some 3.5mm phono cables from monoprice. Thanks for the help.

They have a "mobile" version but not sure if its worth the higher price.

You are correct. I used the wrong link as I am going to try and use the M/F to extend the power supply connector to see if it will work.

Ive got a new build that I'm about to start and I need to know what route I should go. The tank is a 36x36x30 cube with a overflow that is in the center of the tank.(4 side viewable) The overflow is 12x12. This leaves me with two feet all the way around the overflow. I don't plan on having any SPS but will have some LPS, bubbles and some softies.

What do you all think, Should I go with two A360w's or four A160w's? Or a combo of both? Any help on this matter will be of great help.

A160W won't have enough power for 30" of water and two A360W will be tricky in terms of coverage since you have a center overflow and 4 viewable sides.

That what I'm having trouble with. I had a thought about 4 360's and turning down the intensity a lot.

Four 360's would be absolutely killer on that tank. Adjust the intensity as needed and position the lights closer to the viewing panes angled inward slightly. That should help you maximize the coverage while not illuminating the glass to much and also eliminate shadowing. Just be sure to allow yourself some flexibility in where you position the lights and their height.

I think thats what I'm going to do. I know if I center them that the corners are going to be dimmer. I like the idea of angling them inward slightly. Do you think that will help with illuminating the corners more?

It's all about positioning. That's why you want to leave yourself some flexibility with where you hang them and how you position them. There will be some trial and error to find the best spot but rest assured, you will light that tank up like Dodger Stadium and your corners will not be an issue. What are you planning on hanging these from or what are your plans for mounting them?

I tell you, Those sweet swivel head things you used in your swap are nice.I don't remember if you mentioned where you got them, but thats what I'm probably going to use. Now that i think of it ill probably also do a rack setup like that too. Just not the motorized lifting part. Although its super slick.

slief sells the swivel mounts your talking about, I bought 4 of them for my Kessil's I highly recommend them!! they are awesome, allows you to aim light where you need it. I mounted them to my canopy and I love them! He is also awesome to do business with, great experience dealing with him.

Weird question I have my profile set for my APex but one light comes on a couple minutes other one comes on and also same thing when they go off. I bought these kessils at different times does that matter? I got two A360we tuna blues I believe.

The Kessils typically shut off and turn on around 14% on the Apex That's about 1.4volts. Add a point in your profile that takes it from 0% to 14% over the course of a minute for the start of sunrise and another from 14% to 0 at the end of sunset and that should solve your issue or at least make it much less dramatic. Also, if you are using an off the shelf 2.5mm cable for the link instead of the Kessil one, that can play a role as well. If you don't use the Kessil link cable, you want to use as high a quality 2.5mm stereo cable as you can. A low quality one will have higher resistance and can cause the light to shut off sooner than master and turn on later than the master because of slight voltage differences.
