I am have the beta firmware (v3.3.0) as well as the beta app (3.3 beta) and for the life of me I cannot get my lamp to connect to either of my 2 routers unless I have security turned off. Both routers use different ip addresses as well as they are on different channels but both use WPA/WPA2 security and AES encryption. This is getting very frustrating, has anyone else had wifi router connection issues? Any suggestions?
If you set the light up through the router you can access while on that same network. You don't get "cloud" control unless you VPN to your home network.

Thanks but I am 100% positive I have not used the incorrect password since I have trid to connect to the router at least 30 times. I may make mistakes, but not 30 times in a rowI was having issues as well, but traced it to typing the wrong WiFi password in when setting the light up for router mode. It will not ask you again, the App will just keep auto entering the wrong password from that point on. Reseting the App data using the Reset App button fixed the issue and prompted for the password on the next setup attempt. I would try that just to see if the App is auto populating a password that it can't connect with.

Believe me I feel for you. The amount of emails back and forth with Kessil and the things they have had me try has been super frustrating. At least I am fortunate enough that I can connect directly to my light and have control that way, but honestly having to do it all on my iPhone is not the most of ideal situations.I am completely screwed now. I did the updates and my lights won't even turn on. I have no light at all. I already went through hell and back with these f'n lights before, finally got them to work and follow a program luckily all that was just during my cycle stage, well that's all different now, went out today of all days and bought several hundred dollars worth of corals and now I have no light at all. I am so f'n angry right now that I actually want to scrap the entire hobby. It has been literally 6 months of hell with these lights. Why did I think this new update would be any better. So mad and frustrated beyond belief. Don't know what to do. And so help me if they tell me to go through the motions again like I am doing something wrong.........guess I'll go out and buy some flashlights or something.
I'm sure I'll get them going but now I have zero time for any type of error, took months before back and forth. Arrrrrrgggghhhh!!!!!
I got my ap700 on Thursday along with 2 of the mounting arms. I'm using the app on my Galaxy s7. I had no problems setting it up, my program works perfectly. The app is a little bit clunky but it's not a big deal to me.

Remember guys this is a BETA! You are literally testing the program! Part of that means you find problems and relay them to Kessil to fix them. If you don't have the time, patience, or willing to risk problems I recommend rolling back your firmware and app.
I did have an issue after I set my program to get it to start working, not sure how I got it to work but I did. Didn't have to set it up again or anything. The whole process of firmware update and getting the new app and making a schedule took me about 30min. Seemed pretty easy.
You do understand that this is the 3rd version and not the first right?and for the ones that have been using it since the start it has been a horrible experience. I have been using the Kessil light for about 4-5 months. I know what I am doing with it. I have logged more hours with their IT people than you could possibly imagine. After about 20+ hours ****ing around with these lights I finally got it to work, doing the same **** over and over of what they said to do.
So finally getting the first "beta" and the upgrade for that, I figure, hey maybe they actually got everything together on this one and this is "the final bug fix" and all will be great now. Well, WRONG! Now the light doesn't do anything. I program it, it does the whole speed preview garbage that's useless IMO and that's it. Go back to program and it stays on the exact point you are at and doesn't change. At least in the last 3 more wasted hours since my last I was able to get the crap lights to turn on.
Now I have to wake up and turn the lights on manually and adjust then each time the program changes. Nice. Too much technology sucks balls. I wish they would just admit that their programmers clearly have no clue what they are doing. Bam!!!!!! Now that's a rant. Sorry So ****ed off!!
But if they do end up working that would be great. Hahahahaha!!!!!Basically gone insane over these lights. Hmmmm wonder if there will be any compensation for all the stress of this not to mention the number of corals that are going to be lost. Believe me. I have been over the top patient and polite with their staff but I am absolutely friggin' exhausted from this. :debi::debi:

This is exactly what happened to me. I reset the app multiple times, then I clicked on one of the default programs a few times then back to mine and it started working.Remember guys this is a BETA! I think I also "reset" the wifi by making the blue light blink (down arrow and +) then unplugging for 10 seconds. Some combination of this all got mine to work.

Hmm, is it asking you for the password every time? When I did it, it asked me for the password on the first attempt, which I flubbed, and then never asked me again. If it is asking you for the password everytime, perhaps you have a different issue. One of the changes to the firmware was to improve connecting to WiFi (better authentication support, etc.). My not have had the desired effect for you.
Also I have not loaded the 3.3 firmware yet. Waiting for my lights to go out before rotating them to my Mac. That may explain the different behaviour.
