Kessil Club

Remember the less intensity the less par. I think the minimum for the 360WE are 12 inches above the water. You could Try that and slowly raise the intensities 5 percent until you hit the sweet spot and see what happens. Just a suggestion.

With the 360we @ 12 inch height (above water line) it will send direct light wide of the tank (24"x24") so I was thinking that was too high and wasteful. Hmmm..

Count me in on the Kessil Club! Just set the tank up last week.

I'm hoping to loose the zip ties soon, as my aluminum finally arrived to build my light rack

You're not getting away with that post. Full specs requested:)

It's a custom Planet Aquariums 66 Gallon 36x24x17 with external overflow drilled for herbie style drain. It's just cycling right now. Might start a build thread soon.

Amazing tank, I've always had a weak spot for shallow cubes. What're those squares on the bottom?

The squares are ceramic tiles from Alternative Reef, I'm planning to let the entire bottom be covered in corals, be it zoa, acan, gsp... to me all corals are also filters, the more the better. I do have a sand bed in the centre, 18x18x3" to hold my Derasa Clam and allow for wrasses... I will have more pic soon in my build thread.

It won't be wasteful. If you think that it will you could always lower the light. Just trying to get you more bang for your buck.

What do you use for flow? I don't know how I could possibly get such little agitation like that?
Also do you have any sps in there?

This tank is dedicated to LPS, I will probably put a few monti's in just as I can't resist. I have a par meter so I can take some measurements, though I'm on the road for work for another few days.

I am running a 150 Gyre in each corner, coupled with 2 WP40's in each corner. I run the left Gyre and then pulse the opposite to WP's to break it up.
All controlled with my apex. I also run the Gyre in the vertical orientation, which creates a great race track for the triggers and tangs. It is rather low flow in the video as I was just letting the fish get settled in after being transferred.

I will have more info in my build thread http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2393628 in order to keep this about the Kessils
