Hello -

I have a 63" L x 23" D x 24" H tank. How many Kessil's would you suggest? This is a mixed reef but mainly large SPS and maxi mini anemones. I currently have three and feel like I need more light. Opinions are greatly appreciated!

Of you have 3 already I would add another one.

Thanks. I have them 10-12" off the surface. Is that OK or should I lower the lights?

If you lower the lights you loose the spread.

1 x A360WE or 2 x A160WE

Had my mind made up on the 1 x A360WE but just wanted to ask for opinions. Thanks.

I'd suggest two 160WEs.

What type of corals are you trying to keep? If LPS then yea. SPS then maybe two Kessil 160we.

Are the 160's as strong as the 360 with just a narrower spread?

I'd suggest two 160WEs.

+1. I think it is a good fit : Maximum usage for 1 stand alone kessil unit.

No they're not as strong, but you'll get more than enough light to penetrate 13" of water and you'll have more coverage with two 160 vs a single 360

Same thinking. Depending on the route you're going either one 360WE or two 160WEs.

I have the narrow A360 and I'd say 24" is max. Here's a picture when I first set it up 14" from surface of water.

Nice Tank! I think I might stick with one 360we then, unless I find a good deal on a couple 160we's. I feel like two pendants might look a little funny on a 24" wide tank. Thanks for the help guys.

Ok at work and read through like half the thread. But I in the planning faze of a 40 breeder tank 36x18x16. Will 1 360we work or should I just go with a pair of 160we im leaning more towards lps like acro, long tentacle plates duncans a nem and chalices. Ultimately this will be my starter tank and then would like to upgrade to a shallow 80 48x24x17. If I got the 2 160we think I could get away with just adding a 360we when I go up to the shallow 80?

Yep the wide version will give you plenty of coverage good choice. (2) 160's would be nice as you will get less shadows. That's the only drawback with these lights imo.

I totally agree. Stocking plays a role as to which and how many lights you have.
