Zoanthids on the sand almost receded all the way down![]()

I'm just saying that 99 times out of 100 when folks have problems the LED/lighting seems to make an easy scapegoat and other factors are not considered. Before jumping to conclusions you need to be absolute sure that there are not pest, parameters are in line and stable, temperature is stable (you mentioned a heater problem?), pH can be a problem is very low, stray voltage, pollutants, and list goes on. As you can see there are endless reasons a coral may not be happy but everyone's first issue is LED light.
You light is probably the most consistent thing about your tank, LEDs are precisely controlled and any error is that of the user(usually to much intensity to quickly).

I don't think that helps after the fact.

As you can see this is with the Kessil a360w what a beauty. But not happy

I'm going to give my ATI a couple of weeks to see how my corals react, I already miss my Kessil and it's only been one day.
Thanks but I'm not giving up on my Kessil I just want to see how my corals react to just t5's on them. Day two and my zoanthids are just fine they are not reaching out anymore but some of my mushrooms, kryptonite candy canes, scans, are half there size.
You went from one light source to a totally different light source. It's going to take a long time for corals to adapt. I'm talking months to see what impact a different light source has on a coral.

I've had them all the way up on intensity and color for a couple of hours for a couple of days, it was very bright and started to grow algae all over the place. I think the one a360w was brighter than my t5's but not across the whole tank.
When I first started the tank, it was with my kessil controller set on acclimation mode slowly ramped up from there. At first the corals were fine, after a while they would start to stretch and would look for more lighting. So I slowly ramped up the lights trying to keep the zoanthids from stretching up for more lighting. For months I would slowly up the lights, thats when I finally reached my settings at 100% intensity 25% color. Some of the zoanthids, mushrooms, nems, and maxima had positive reaction to this setting other corals didn't.
When I added in the t5's on I got another positive reaction from the rest of my zoanthids started to open. My pompoms weren't withdrawn anymore but where more open thick and finally pulsating.
A lot of people say that my settings on my Kessil was way to much but I don't think so I know what Ive seen in my tank with those HIGH settings. This is why iv'e asked the question "could there be something wrong with MY Kessil lighting".
It shouldn't be on 100% intensity in the first place with a 13" deep tank. Use a PAR meter.
I don't have a par meter.
