So I’m looking at beginning collecting reefing/saltwater books, to have for reference as well as a conversation piece. Back when I started I couldn’t afford the books, and now they’re virtually non existent.

With that said, what books are on your must have list? The more books listed the better.

I thought I’ve asked this before but can’t find it.

Here's a few to start with. Many (like The Reef Aquarium books) are pretty expensive even used.

Corals of the World - J.E.N. Veron
The Reef Aquarium (Volumes 1-3) - J. Charles Delbeek & Julian Sprung
Algae: A Problem Solver Guide - Julian Sprung
Reef Notes (Volumes 1-4) - Julian Sprung
The Marine Aquarium - Dick Mills
Marine Fishes and Invertebrates in your own Home - Dr. Cliff W. Emmens
Miniature Reed Aquarium in your Home - Dr. Cliff W. Emmens
The Marine Aquarium in Theory and Practice - Dr. Cliff W. Emmens
Aquarium Corals - Eric Borneman
A Practical Guide to Corals - Eric Borneman & Ed Puterbaugh
Advanced Reefkeeping - Albert J. Thiel
Dr. Burgess's Atlas of Marine Aquarium Fishes - Dr. Warren E. Burgess, Dr. Herbert R. Axelrod & Raymond E. Hunziker III
The Manual of Marine Invertebrates - Martyn Haywood & Sue Wells
Clownfishes: A Guide to Their Captive Care, Breeding & Natural History - Joyce D. Wilkerson

A few more...

Tropical Marine Aquaria - Graham F. Cox
Marine Community Aquarium: How Fish and Invertebrates Live Together in the Miniature Reef Aquarium - Dr. Leon P. Zann
Marine Fish - Dr. Herbert R. Axelrod & Dr. Warren E. Burgess
The Marine Aquarium - Wolfgang Wickler
The Marine Aquarium Reference: Systems & Invertebrates - Martin A. Moe Jr.
The Coral Reef Aquarium: From Inception to Completion - Tony Vargas

And of course, you can't forget @Paul B book ;)

I got all of Scott Michael books other than the on eon Rays and Sharks since I am not interested in keeping them. I may just get them to be complete. Of all the other books I have them on shelf and have not look at them in years. They were very helpful years ago when the internet was not available and information were few and far in between. The 500+ fish handbook (S. Michael) and the invert handbook (Ron Shimek) we’re invaluble.
