Kordon Ich Attack 100% organic herbal treatment. Has anyone ever tried this product?
What was the success rate?

I have been fighting Ich with vitamines & garlic and was adviced to try this product in addition.

I have a small CowFish with Ich in my 90g reef tank; he still is eating a lot & quite active.
Any other advice would be appreciated.

Thank you. Sandra

I think this is what my friend used on his tank and he had good luck with it....with corals in it too.

I actually was going to make a thread until I saw this post.
Today I am looking at my black clown and he is just covered in ich. Pretty much overnight. I really don't know what happened as I haven't even added anything to the tank especially fish in months.
My other fish are all ok but I am really concerned.
I was going to see what people recommended and I was going to see what you all thought about this product.
If worse comes to worse I guess I will just copper treat him if I can catch him but I plan to start dosing the kordon's tomorow, unless anyone has anything to say about it before I dose it....

I used it in my 90 gal tank that had 6 sick fish. Although 2 died, the others made it through treatment without a problem. I treated three times a day for about a month. Most reefers will say it's not an effective treatment, but it seemed to work in my tank and there's no sign of ich after 3 months.

Where all your corals fine?
At this point I really want something that is safe for the corals....
3 fish under $100 is < $600-$700 worth of coral haha

So far to date, there are no "reef safe" or "organic" treatments that are reliable. The kordon product is no exception. It's success rate tends to be the same as doing nothing. The only reliable treatments are copper and hyposalinty, both of which need to be done in a QT.

I've used it to no avail either last time (desperation move of not wanting to re-aquascape and taking out 60lbs of rock). Didn't work for me and I ended up taking out my fishes. Good Luck to you.

As stated above only two proven methods of ridding ich.

Fish can develop and immunity to ich and as such it appears these "Reef Safe" products work, which fools many people.

Hi:)

All other fish in the 90g are fine; but I decided to remove my CowFish as well.
He is in a hospital tank now & I'm treating him with Mardel CopperSafe. That cleared up his ICH by 95% in 4days.

I am not sure if the Kordon worked? Maybe it kept the other fish safe? Maybe though they were just strong enough to fight the ICH off themselves:(

LLL Sandra

You might want to move the other fish to the hospital tank as well. They are probably carring ich and will spread it back to the cowfish as soon as he back in the tank.

Once ich is determined to have infesed a fish in a tank with other fish, the others should be suspected of having been infested as well even though it hasn't been seen on the other fish. The ich can still be living in the gills and usually shows up later on after the "sick" fish has been cured and reintroduced back into the original tank.
