I know that Maroons and GSMs get pretty big. Are they the largest type? Do Occ. get as big? Thanks for the help.

Ocellaris don't get that big. Some members of the clarkii complex get large. Saddle backs get large as well. The largest of all is arguable.

My brother has had a maroon for about 8 years and it is about 6 inches long, and very thick.

Its a close race between maroons and chrysopterus. They can get over 6 inches. I think Wilkersen said in the Clownfishes book that Chrysopterus gets the largest.

The largest clown I've ever seen was a Chrysops. It was an EASY 7" from the tip of the tail to snout.

Decided on a pair of Clarkiis. Found them at the local shop-Female is about 3 1/2 inches, and the male is about 2 1/2 inches. Never had a pair before. Would like a pair of Aussies next!!

I once saw a pair of nigripes and the female was easily 7 inches also - incredulous I know - I was amazed.

This is the largest clown that I've seen, but generally not the largest species.

Maroons, chrysops etc are are big boys (or girls rather!)

I've definitely seen 7" maroon clownfish on a regular basis. I would argue that they get larger on a more frequent basis than the other species, though they max out at around the same.
