so earlier this week i noticed what looked like tad poles swiming in my sump.cool, but what are they?the only fish i have that breed are the two clowns what are the odds that they are clowns and that they will make it?as of this am they are still there and growin.

Strange things happen; many have snails, worms and even corals make it through larval stage. I don't know of anyone who gets fish through without special care.

if they are fish larva i cant believe they have made it this far.i dont know what mosquito larva look like but could they make it in salt water?

Google mosquito larvae. You've seen them before- not realizing what they are!

Skeeter larvae won't survive saltwater.

The tadpole description does sound like Clownfish larvae- are they transparant?

Without a food source they will not survive.

they must be feeding on something to make it a week,or can they? they are kinda transparant maybe touch of brown or black.tuff call with these eyes anymore.

I read another instance where a couple clown larvae made it into the sump. The person had been trying to raise larvae in a breeder setup, but wasn't successful and commented how ironic it was that his only successes were the ones he found accidentally.

So, survival is possible.

could be shrimp i guess,as of this am they are still swimming in the sump. i have 2 pair of glasses and contacts. but they will never be 21 again .

I love finding strange creatures in my tank. Last week I found a pistol shrimp the size of my thumbnail.

Still have them? Identified yet?

I keep pepermints in screened areas of my sea horse tanks areas of specifically for the larvae that swim over an provide nice food for the ponies.Others do this as well.
