Led Mounting Height

Well I guy I got my DM-132E this Tuesday (finally) but was out of town till Friday. Today I am off to Home Depot for some PVC to build a stand to mount the light over my 24 Nano before I run the girls up to Rapid's Park. What height do you think is best for the light? 8"s?

IMHO- the best height is where you get the coverage you want.
My build my LED fixture sits on the frame.
The Solaris is 3 1/2" up.

Sorry 120 degree optics. I have the base of the light stand done. Now I just need the get the hangers installed. Pics when I am done:celeb1:!

Pics. The colors still have to wake up. They are not use to not having any light this late in the day.

Does the rack have a centering tab or something? If the corner of the stand winds up in the tank, bye bye light. Looks good though. If it's dimmable just start it low and increase slowly.

Guys is it safe to paint the light rack black?

Yup! Use a plastic paint and make sure you let it dry real well. Krylon is the most popular. I've used Rustoleum.
