Fts

Took some pics with my iphone on the way out the door yesterday. Thought they weren't too bad.

Frag tank. About 15 gallons.

FTS at 5 months (taken yesterday). You can really see the different lighting in this shot. LED (old maxspects) on either end and a 36" 2x 96w PC with a 150w MH in the middle. Can't wait to get a proper lighting set up, but for now this is working. New PC bulbs and MH bulb a couple months ago.

Very pleased with the overall progress.

New lights.

New lights.

Well, I made some decisions last weekend and ended up with some new lights.

This is temporary as we are planning to buy 3-4 more Kessils in the future to make the tank uniform in color, however it will be great for the next year or so. The hanging solution is also temporary as I just threw them up to get them up. LOL! It turned out pretty good for a rush job, but I will make something much more elegant when I buy the rest of the Kessils. Anyway, here are some pics.

This is the tank with the Metal Halide fixure in the center. .......You can see the VERY obvious difference in light.

Here is the tank with the new Kessils and the Maxspects turned sideways.

The pics are from my iphone and are NOT doing this justice. But the shimmer and color is AMAZING! It's so elegant!

I bought a trellace at Home depot so I would be able to move the lights around as needed......worked great. I was able to place them right where I wanted them.
IMG_2305.jpg

The Anemone basically gets its own light, and it is LOVING it! Doesn't reach anymore and is open wider than I have seen in a long time!
IMG_2307.jpg

Anyway, that is the new lighting solution. I will try to get a decent video of the shimmer and such. Very pleased. Hope you like them too.

When these shots were taken the lights were tuned to a light blue and they were only at about 40-50% power. They are adjustable to a VERY wide color spectrum from a yellow / white to a very deep blue and everything in between. Crazy beautiful!

More tank pics with the new lights.

More tank pics with the new lights.

Been workin on the tank a lot lately. Added a lot of new stuff and rearranged a bit. Corals have adapted nicely to the new lights. I am running them at about 50% power and everything looks great. I didn't think I would play with the color that much, but I find myself tuning in to match the other LED's better for day and night. It's pretty cool.

Anyway, I have been taking lots of pics and thought I would share some.

Took some top down shots while doing a water change.

Cup coral is AWESOME!! I know it is a common coral, but I've had this one a long time and it really shines in this tank (IMO of coarse).

A new Dendro.....Trying to decide if I have it in too much current......might try another spot.
IMG_2332-1.jpg

Biggest mushroom I have ever had. LOL! Haven't measured, but my guess is about 10" accross. Starting to fight with the stylo though. :(

Kris,

Get the old embed code in the option screen (on the bottom) on YouTube and copy and paste directly into your reply. You will then see the video instead of the link. Nice video update by the way. :)

Thanks......

Thanks Jim, I tried that a couple different ways, but maybe I am using the wrong one? I will look for "the old" codes.

New camera.

New camera.

So I got a new Hi Def video camera. Took some video after getting it out of the box and it is fantastic. I will do a much better video eventually, but this is a good teaser. Best at 720p or better.

Hi, beautiful you have there.
If you don't mind me asking.

What is the thickness of the glass panels(Front, back, and bottom) of your tank?
How much does the empty tank weight do you know?
How big are each of the openings of your tank minus the bracing?

Thanks.

No problem. It is 1/2" glass all the way around. Weight was 1300lbs on the shipping label with crate. There are three openings........the center is 20" wide x 20" to the overflow. The two side openings are 19" wide and 22" front to back.
