Left ARC with $ still in pocket.

In no way, shape or form am I attempting to bash ARC since we all know how much Randy has done for the reef community here in Western NY. I was a little surprised today to see that there wasnt much at the store as far as frags goes. First thought was that I missed the greatest sale ever...but after looking around I just walked out cash back in pocket. I guess when you are used to seeing something as great as his store and then seeing it as I did today I'm left wondering if everything is going ok.
Concerned if any and not trying to start something here.
Any thoughts?

I was in there 2day the only thing i really noticed is they took down their main chalice display tank to upgrade to a new display tank. Looks like they are setting up one of those red see all in one systems, so maybe thats what the difference was.

the last few times I was in there were a ton of frags especially sps acros etc. the tanks have been reorganized with fewer eggcrate set ups. maybe there is going to be less frags for sale and more torches/hammers as well as softies.

I thought the exact opposite, for the past few months I have found very few frags, particularly SPS . For a long time I would go every week or two and pick up a new SPS frag, I actually haven't been there as often lately knowing they probably won't have much.

I still love ARC, Randy and the guys are always helpful, still pick up salt and food there, just not as much coral.

I did hear a possible explanation from a few people which would explain a lot . But I have no verification so I'm not going to post it on the forum.

I was actually there are few days ago trading in some coral frags. There is a cool Jason Fox Chalice Frag waiting for someone to come and get it :)! The corals for sale at ARC did tend to be on the larger size. I think this is a product of the purchasing cycle and what was available at wholesalers along with people trading corals in. Some times I am there and the tanks are overflowing with frags. It looks like they broke down the 120g tank when you walk in and were starting to set up the New Red Sea All In One Display Tank. Randy mentioned to me that he had been spending the majority of his time working in the clownfish breeding facility and that after the holidays he was going to delegate tasks and upkeep over in the clownfish breeding area so he could focus more on the corals and retail part of the store. I did see some cool Platinum and Picasso baby clowns back there. I am sure after the holidays there will be a ton of frags once everything settles back down and wholesaler shipments start back up.

Thats what I figured but just wanted to see what others thought. all other times that I've been in i've walked out all hoover flags. I was just a little disappointed after the long trip that I made.

I think ARC continues to be a very fine source for livestock and anything else you need for your aquarium.

Yeah, it always sucks when I go somewhere and don't find what I am looking for. That is the weird thing with LFS, they are constantly changing the coral inventory. Hopefully the next time you are in town, you will find a coral frag field.
