New lemon peel angle won't eating. Tried mysis shrimp, squid, spiraling brine shrimp. Tried feeding at night. Fish less then a week old. Active fish Graze on rocks but worried it won't be enough. 55 gallon fowlr. 2 clownfish, dragon goby, melanurus wrasse, flame hawk, and blue dot puffer. Any ideas to get angle to eat?

Where did you get the fish from, online or the LFS? If it's the latter what was it eating there before you purchased it? This can be key sometimes.

Purchased at Lfs. They had him for a couple weeks, but when I purchased he was not eating. Owner gave me a discounted price. He did tell me he it was not eating and I would be taking a chance on it.

Order some California dried black worms. I had two butterflies that would not eat. I offered black worms and they began eating. Now they eat everything.

Always a gamble if they are not eating. Keep up the variety. Try some nori you never know. If its grazing thats a good sign. Its eating something just not hooked on frozen yet.

Rotate the rock between lighted sump and tank: stays in system: gives films a chance to grow back. The lemon peels are difficult to keep.

Agreed, LemonPeel is not an easy dwarf angel to keep precisely because they can be difficult to get feeing. Try as much variety as possible.

How much to feed fish?

How much to feed fish?

55 gallon with 8 fish. I feed 1 cube thawed mysis shrimp or squid, or brine shrimp. And ( 1 by 1 inch square of nori for lemon peel angle does not eat frozen food) every day. Was considering upping my feeding to 2 cubes a day. 55 gallon fowlr up 3 months. 25% water changes biweekly. Running gfo in reactor. Aquamax hob protien skimmer. And carbon in canister filter. Cleaned every 3 weeks.
2 clown fish
1 malunaris wrasse
1 blue dot puffer
1 dragon goby
1 Lemon peel Angle
1 royal gramma
1 Hawk fish

Thanks for all the responses, what is it eating on the rocks? I will try multiple foods and rotating the rocks.

It's picking at algae on the rocks. I have found most dwarf angels can be very picky eaters. I feed several different kinds of food to my flame angel and rotate it. Chances are most LFS just feed flakes. I feed a wide variety myself and if it get's bored with the food it will not eat and if the food is too big it will not eat it either.

I have Ocean Nutrition Prime Reef Flakes, Seaweed Extreme, Omega One Veggie Small Pellets and Mysis Shrimp and some Nori. The Flame Angel likes the Seaweed Extreme, Omega One Veggie Small Pellets and more so on the Omega One since it also has Spirulina in it. It will eat some Nori sometimes also. The two least foods it eats are the flake food and Mysis shrimp. You could always try some algae wafers also.
