the two are compatable but the red tail tamrin 'PSYCOHEAD" really needs to constantly graze to feed ,they are very difficult to keep weight on .i have had a few and have the avialability to feed many times a day and night till 3 am and they still are always getting thinner . they always eat ans just never seem to be able to eat enough times or enough food . i feed six to eight times a day in that particular tank and they still slowly wither .
Are the yellow tail tamarins the same way? They have a nice one locally, but I keep telling myself don't do it.

yes they are troy t nomad but i have had better sucess with the yellow tail tamrins but they usually will not live for years without being the only grazer in a large tank with lots of live rock .

good luck mystery box ,get them eating asap as you well know and the meds man ,they are important with them .

thanks! I will do everything that I can! This is the first time using meds! I almost wish that I didn't get another one since my bipart as doing so well! Oh well!

the bipartus can also be a bit territorial so do a little aquascaping if it is at all possiable ,that may help a bit . and good luck also hope all goes well .

sorry for the confusing communication! After my MM was introduced a couple of weeks back, 9 days later my very healthy & fat 4 month old bipart never came up out of sand. The MM never came out after the first day. That's why I was thinking it was a worm/parasite introduced my that MM. AT that point, I had no Leopards.

Now, this morning I had 2 MM leopards delivered! Yeah! 1 went right into the sand, the other took about 10 minutes. No acclimation. I removed carbon, shut off skimmer & dosed prazipro. How long should I leave skimmer off?

So, ALL LOOKS GOOD SO FAR! Yeah! as you know, who knows?

I would dose Prazi for 6 days, perform 25% water change then another dose of prazi for 6 days.

Recently I only treated once on a new fish and flukes was visible after a month. Not sure why it took so long to show up but from now on I will treat twice.

confused. should I add a dose of prazi every day for six days?

Sorry for the confusion. Only one dose every 6 days. I think the instruction say one dose every 5-7 days and repeat if needed. I pick the middle which is 6 days.

i would do three doses six dayd apart with the 25% water change just before the next dose then at the end carbon ,skim and a couple of water changes . when i dosed i stopped my b-ionic dosing and my alk went a bit low but not below 8 so i let it go . i stopped the b-ionic because i just hate putting anything into my tanks and dont like mixing unknown substances .

Really? Three prazi doses for preventitive? Ok, I'll do it.

I did 2, 5 days apart with a 20% water change in between. Good luck with your new leopards Mysterybox!

yes i would be safe than sorry as you may have read i learned my lesson the hard way . a three year search and a thousand dollars down the drain ,needless to say sorry for the fish i let die .

2 went into tank yesterday morning at 11am or so.

OK, one came out tonight about 7:00 pm, and she's hanging really low to the sand. I shut down my return & tunze's to feed, and she just hung out in the corner on it's side. So, after 15 minutes, I just turned everything back on, and now she's at least sorta swimming low to the sand again. humm.........any thoughts? She wouldn't eat, but she just came out about 15 minutes before I fed.

Ralph

can this be normal? or is she .......................

she's doing better now, swimming a lot more in place further from the sand. She's not foraging, but looking much better, more alert and balanced.

dont get spooked yet it may take a few days to a week before they get settled down . they are difficult to initiate feeding and i usually use live brine shrimp to get them started then switch them over to the PE_MYSIS. i also have had better results giving them some "room"so they aren't bugged out by at the comotion of the owner fidgiting around the tank constantly . a towel over the front of tank will reduce their stress alot .

I have 2 sizes of live brine, tubifex worms, frozen brine, mysis, cyclopeeze,................

thanks for the encouragement!

cool mysterybox ,usually the live brine works well for me .after a bit its frozen foods and all is well !my best suggestion is just give them some room and they will be fine .and the prazipro should be a necessary treatment with all wrasses IMO .
