What is the timeframe they go downhill? first few weeks or months? I have read most of it and still seems to be hit and miss. would like to try another Bipart but have lost 2 or 3 over last 5 yrs.

My bipartitus is about 4 inches. I have a few other wrasses and anthias in my tank and a not shy about feeding. :-) I probably feed 4 or 5 times a day.. All small meals.

Albeit you don't have to read through this entire thread(recommend it), please go back a few pages as all your answers are here. Not withstanding that you can't ask one! It is helpful to gain some research in addition to the few questions that u have...

the first month is when they will make it or not pull through . really its probably the first two weeks that 99% of them show their true colors ime

Mike,i would figure out when he is burrowing in for the night and feed him well a half hour before that time . this may keep him up later

I've been taking your advice and giving him a good meal before he burrows in. It seems to be working. He seems to be staying up a little later each day. He is still eating great and starting to take a little flake.

Just wanted to drop in and say thx for all the great info. Picked up a leopard wrasse (meleagris) 7 weeks ago and things are now fine!

I had given it up for dead, and after a month in the sand decided to come out as if nothing had changed. She was so skinny!

Started her on brine shrimp soaked in selcon for a couple of days, went to mysis, then went to a seafood mix I make containing octopus, shrimp, mussel, clam, nori and selcon and now is also taking NLS flake, pellet and freeze dried mysis. Wants to eat all day lol.

Unfortunatley can't just feed her pellet and flake as a few inhabitants of the tank have refused to go off the seafood mix I make, so I mix it all in and feed throughout the day. She seems to be fattening up although I would like to see more weight on her.

And yes treated with prazipro, started the dose 3 days after she surfaced just to make sure I got some food into her.

That's awesome news! Great job!

Awesome news! My Lennardi wrasse did the same thing! Went hiding for 3 Weeks and then decided to come out! Now he's eating like a pug too!

Has anyone had any experience with Kueter's leopard wrasse?

Are they similar to the choati in terms of difficulty to keep? Will introducing a group of 3 or 4 make it easier to keep in the long run?

i have a kuetier and he acclimated well even after a slight problem with getting stuck behind my foam wall . it took an hour to get him out and i thought he was a gonner from being stressed but he pulled through like a champ ! i have found the choati's to be nearly impossible as i am missing something with their specific needs .
love the lennardi's ,wish i could get one .

Thought we'd share a couple of updated pics of our leopards:
