I'm not sold on the gyre method. Sure you can probably generate faster flow but why?

I'm all about turbulent flow and not really concerned with the amount of turnover I have. As long as the polpys are moving and moving in all directions, I'm happy.

mcliffy2 has seen my tank so this is old news to him but for everyone else, I'm using 4 SeaSwirls that I've attached 3 modded Tunze 6025's and one SEIO 1100. These along with my return really break up the water pattern in the tank and get things moving. I wouldn't say that the tank is boiling but the movement is dynamic and the acros really seem to enjoy the chaos.

Hey mike, you were mentioning the problems with the Sequence pump. Im curious if that has been a common problem, because it says now on Reefspecialty.com that the orca 200s come with Dart GOLD skimmers. Kinda curious if that was their upgrade....

Actually the regular Dart on my skimmer is dead silent. The motors on the Dart gold are higher quality and more efficient. I saw one today at IMAC and it looks very nice.

Here are some pics from today, I got my bulb combo to a point I really like by taking Grim Reefers suggestions....I'm thinking its more than enough, I'm looking at my corals and thinking they are starting to bleach a little bit. At any rate, with T5s I've decided ATI Blue Plus bulbs are like the secret weapon...they kick some serious tail.

he is zooming around my acclimation bucket as we speak, needs another 30 min. or so before he goes in the tank. Eric's emporer is apparently already eating in his tank...

That tank looks gorgeous. You really make me wish I sucked it up, and bought a T5 fixture, and wasted those measley 6" across the middle. That "$15 frag" is what they sell as "$60 colonies" over here lol. Nice pick up (Making mental note to ask for a frag in a few months lol)

Yea, I actually felt bad today...didn't know if RD was what I hyped it to be...they had probably twice the SPS selection last time I was there. Still had good stuff, just not as many of the huge colonies.

I loved that place. Both those guy's couldn't have been nicer, and it's always nice to have knowledgeable people selling. My turbos look like 10 spot lights in the tank, not a bit of coralline on them.

Email me next week when you get the new pump in cause I'm stopping by to see the finished product! I'm really impressed with the lights and looking at those pics makes me miss my old T5's even more.

Wow Mike the coloration on that Acro looks great under your lights. RD definitely lived up to the hype... next time you head out there LMK.

I tested Ca and Alk tonight because you guy's got me worried. Ca was low, 380 but Alk was good 3.2 meq

I added some of that free Ca we got at the show!!

You guys get some nice corals in LA...last time I was there I went to Fraggle Reef and checked a box of corals on the plane...I think an exchange could be worked out

Eric - I'll definitely be heading back when I hear he gets a new shipment in...if that little angel works out, it might be the deal of a lifetime.

Pat - the DT's freebies were sweet huh? I dosed some phyto in my fuge after I dumped the pods in...overall, I can see why IMAC is dying, but all the freebies made it worth the trip.

Chrissreef - Chicago does have some good shops, but they are very different than LA's shops...all our good ones are in some basement in some guy's house where he has set up a bunch of tanks and you have to call to see if theyll be there because there are no official hours.
