Sara B - thanks much, I love em too.

Daniel - The emperor is a bit of a risk to LPS later, but I feed a ton, and I'm hoping he will be a good citizen...if not I can always look at the Acans in my frag tank :) Sent you a PM back.

Mike I ended up being one of the unlucky ones. I will be going fishing tonight to remove my Blackspot Angel (swallowtail). He started ripping apart one of my brains that I have had since I returned into the hobby and could possibly be my oldest coral. So needless to say, he has to go. I hope yours remains a good reef inhabitant.

Whoa, that is crazy JR...I've never heard of a Genicanthus sp. angel going to town on corals like that, sorry to hear. I'll cross my fingers for mine...

Stun, what is that coral in your avatar?
Obviously I'm not stunreefer, but I'll take a crack at it. Is it an alien-eye chalice?

Gorgeous tank!
Glad to hear that AO was able to make things right for you.
How did things wind up with the Ca reactor?

Nick

AquaC had top notch customer service. They were going to send me a replacement body at cost, which I can't disclose, but its low. Then it got delayed a few days shipping out, and they said no charge. Considering it was a faulty regulator, made by another company, I call that going above and beyond.

I agree with your assessment of Aqua C's Customer Service. Many years ago I bought a Remora skimmer and it arrived with bad seals in the joints of the acrylic body, it leaked water horribly out of the bottom of the skimmer. I contacted Aqua C and sent them a picture of the leak and seals. They sent a replacement out immediately and apologized for the inconvience.

The skimmer is still running just fine after all of these years on a friends 29 gallon reef.

Have you set up the new reactor yet, I dont recall seeing a post about it?

Nick

Yup, its up and running. One question for you...the little disk that is on the line between the ATO and the reactor is a check valve right? I think I messed it up...it snapped apart, and I tried snapping it back together, but either (a) if the little rubber disk inside the plastic disk is there, it blocks the flow completely or (b) if I take the rubber disk out, I get a siphon back into the ATO. Not a huge deal, I just lifted my ATO bucket off the floor so as to prevent a siphon, just curious what I need to replace to make it work perfect.

How is the chalice doing? Happy to report the chalice healed nicely...Menard and Brandon (Ataylo13) are in line for the next frags, and then a bunch of other folks who have PMed me about it.

Yes, that's a check valve. I snagged one from Matt at Sho Tank for my kalk reactor. Using a tall tank with the pump (Aqualifter) mounted high for an ATO reservoir pretty much eliminated the need for it, but better safe than sorry, right?

BTW, sweet tank man. I'm in progress on a 275g system with T5 lighting as well. We'll have to compare bulb combinations later. :)

The problem when I raised it up too high (above the output tube into the sump), was I was getting a siphon into the sump from the kalk reactor, which could be disastrous.

I actually had the Kalk rector and Sump at the same height, just the pump was up several inches higher than both.

Looks like Ed answered the check valve question.!

The chalice is looking great, thanks for the trade!!!

CMAS had their annual fall frag swap so I did a little shopping :)

Picked up some tank-bred onyx clowns with some very cool misbarred coloration, and 9 new frags. Got some that have been on my list for a while - ORA green w/ blue polyp acro, ATL ocean blue stylo, becker tort, pink lemonade, and a few others.

Also found this sweet japanese micro:
