Lets see those angelfish pics!!!!!!

I like how much macro you have growing there. My fish eat it faster than it can grow.

I've to trim every 3-4 weeks...I guess its a good way to export nitrate. Initially I couldn't grow any till I got some that were attached to rocks from my sister's tank. I've to take a different piece of rock out each time and drop it in the other tank for the tangs and larger angels to trim for me.

Although I have long been an advocate of the "1 angel per tank" rule, having previously kept multiple angels, I must admit the lure of an emporer / majestic combo is very tempting! I just got a juv. emperor, he is just about to strat changing, and I am very tempted to get a 3-4" adult majestic to share the 8x2x2 tank with him.......... but I do have reservations...... how do yours get along?

Thanks for the compliments!

So far they have gotten along great. On a rare occasion they will get annoyed with each other, but they mostly will just circle each other, avoiding being touched. Neither one has ever bit the other. To be honest they get along better with each other than they do with any other fish in the tank.

I am a little worried about how they will act when they get older, but if they can't get along, I won't hesitate to separate them. But as for now, they have been fantastic together, and I don't have any reason to believe it will be a problem in the near future. I will try to keep you updated though.

One thing I learned from this thread is how I don't know nearly enough about angels. I couldn't idenify half of the ones I saw, and there are some stunning fish that have been shared by our members.

Marc- did you introduce that Angelfish to your reef display?

It came with my 55g years ago, and it was not reef safe. I gave it to someone with a FOWLR tank. It is a Blue Angelfish, IIRC.

Virginabreeze6,
With all due respect to all those other great angels displayed, your emperor is by far the nicest I've ever seen in a tank. Where did you get him, how long have you had him, etc.
Beautiful fish, can you give us some husbandry tips, because your obviously doing something right.

the only things obvious to me in this picture is the fact that this Emperor is an adult from the Pacific (note the "streamer" off it's dorsal fin) and it's getting fed a sponge. I agree that both of these Angels are very nice looking specimens. Were they raised in aquaria or collected as adults?

FlameAngel88: I love the trio of mulit-colors!! That is how my flames would act. The small one knew that the big on was in charge, and would turn away when he would come around. I was so tempeted to get another pair of flames yesterday... The store had/has 3 flames two males around 2-2 1/2 inches and one female around 1 inch. I could make a perfect pair, but the tank had ich and they wanted 65 bucks apiece for them!! Im not gonna spend that kinda money on regular tiny flames, and just knowing they had ich was enough, lol. Just curious, did your flames ever pair up??

No, I don't have a pair on the FAs yet but still hoping to. This clip was taken the same time as the Multicolor Angels about 2 weeks ago:
