UMMMMM...

WOW

Congratulations....

You have done it !!!!!!!

It lookes absolutely awesome and everyone looks happy.

George, you have a wonderful piece of work there!

I use epoxy putty from Home Depot and Lowes all the time. Just use some superglue gel on the frag and rock sides to help it stick better.

Oh, do you have space in that little tank for a young Scopas around November? He's a good eater and will need a good home when I hit the road for the AF

Amazing build, thank you for sharing this with us. Great group of fish mates in OK!

I look forward to watching this grow up and one day be TOTM!!!

Regards.

You need to come by later this week and take a look - quite a few changes since you were here on June 20. :eek1:

So I understand that you use the epoxy AND then use Super Glue gel to help the epxoy stick to frag & rock?? I've never done that before..

There will be plenty of room for the Scopas come November...

Thanks for leaving a note... stop by often. Next step is dialing in the closed loop without blowing any fish out of the water! ;)

Then the semi-automatic water change system...

Yup, the stuff I get from Home Depot doesn't bind to the rock as fast and solidly as I'd like. I put glue on the frag's bottom, and glue on the bottom of the epoxy. The superglue binds faster than the epoxy and gives a better and quicker stick.

I just realized something...
your display tank is almost 10x bigger than mine :p

Thanks for the FTS. It looks great. I'm very envious of your tank. I will be using this thread multiple times when I finally start doing the construction and set up for my own. (If I ever own a house)

I know it wasn't easy but man you sure make it look easy!I still don't have the guts to start my first saltwater tank and this is #3(?) for you!If you were me would you just start with the biggest tank for the space available or start smaller and work upwards like you did?I have a 110 planted fresh and am getting bored with it.

Great lookin tank. I just like purple coralline.

I like the purple, too. I just couldn't use much LR from the 180 as it is covered with aiptasia. That LR is now in the Rubbermaid sump, which I am using as my new Berghia Nudibranch nursery. I have about 10 adults and 20 juveniles that are going to clean up that rock, over a period of time...

Could you not dose it with Kalkwasser and get rid of the aptasia. That is how I've heard if it being taken out of tanks.

Kalk paste, Joe's Juice, Vinegar, boiling water, lemon juice and Aiptaisa-X just make the aiptasia disappear for awhile - unless you get all of the tissue, the things will come back and with a vengeance!

If you only have one in your tank, you could probably control it with one of the above applications...but if you miss the ones in your overflow, sump, underneath and behind rocks, the next thing you know you have an infestation...

I have seen two adult Berghia clean a medium piece of LR in just a week, and then they go lay eggs, make baby Berghia and smoke a cigarette. :eek2: That's what I'm going to do in my Rubbermaid sump... (without the smoking, of course :D )

George,

I have to say that you have done an outstanding tank build. This was a superior build as every aspect was thought out to the most minute detail and it shows. I have to commend you on first of all asking for advice for everything and then weighing the options and taking the proper actions to do things right the first time!

Most everyone in this "expensive" hobby likes to think that they know the right way of doing things. But with your advanced knowledge of the hobby, tanks, setup, inhabitants....you still asked for advice for everything, and took it....KUDOS!

I am looking forward to checking out your tank now that it is stocked. Congrats on a job well done!

What Cha' gonna do with all the extra floor space in the living room once the 120 and 180 are gone?

:)

Peace.
