Yeah, but I'm still using the old-fashioned AC 3.

 Do you use the AC3 with your LRC-2 CA Reactor? I'd like to see how that works for you... :)

The biggest differences between the AC3 and Apex seems to be some networking features, the current monitoring feature, and the new display which looks remarkably like the RKE.

So much to learn...so little time.

LL

It has all kinds of neat features, but since I barely bought the AC3 maybe 7 months ago, I'm not all that inclined to upgrade. Since changing to Uverse, I lost my nice connectivity settings and haven't got that sorted out yet. Hopefully I can get it working again soon.

I don't use it to control my Calcium Reactor. I have a Milwaukee pH controller for that, that is supposed to turn the CO2 on and off as needed. However, it took broke, and I simply have it dialed in perfectly instead. I check the pH on the display to make sure it is working correctly, but I need to replace the solenoid or the regulator w/ solenoid perhaps.

^^Same here...I'd like to know how user friendly this controller is before setting it up myself. LL have you received it yet?

Will be looking for a nice review from you

+1 Still waiting on what others have to say about it before I decide to switch. :D

Apex xontroller

Apex xontroller

According to UPS tracking, the Apex should arrive on Friday, July 24. Like I don't have enough on my plate this weekend

I will document my installtion and programming through the eyes of a "controller rookie"... (my first controller)

The initial system comes with the display unt, the controller module, PH and temp probes, cables and an EB8 Power module. That will get me started, but I need to order or buy a DC4 or DC4HD to dedicate for my T5s. I need to actually mount the power bar for the lights up on the ceiling, due to the moving rail system. I don't want to stick my single EB8 up there. (Additional EB8 power bars are back-ordered.)

I will also order a second PH probe for the LRC-2 CA reactor.

All in good time... ;)

Received an e-mail from Curt at Neptune Systems. Our Apex controller was shipped on 7/20 and should arrive on 7/24/2009.

This will be a new adventure...

Any Neptune Systems users following along?

LL

We are using the ACIII Pro I also purchased the AquaNotes, It really helped with the programming.
If I can program the controller, you will have no problems.
If you are interested in reviewing my program, I will PM it you.

I am not using it with the CR, I use American Marine PH Controller
sorry, but I know there are a lot of reefers who do.

I do control the Kalkwasser Reactor with it.

I am not able to access my controller using U-verse either, I switching back to Comcast next month.

skidding into the current century!

skidding into the current century!

There is an Iphone App out there to allow connectivity and control functions from the Iphone. Since I am using an ancient (2 year old) Smartphone, the Apex may motivate me to upgrade to the Iphone...

Oh no, what did I just say??? :eek1:

I would appreciate receiving your program... I have the Apex Owner's manual here with me...and have been looking it over. It doesn't look too overwhelming...

Hopefully somebody who uses their controller with a CA Reactor can chime in as well...

Thanks again.

I won't leave the system unattended while I am making RO/DI. With my filter, it takes almost 24 hours to make 50 gallons...

No float valve??? These things are cheap (10-11$) and great, even if you are going to be there.

U-verse is ATT's high speed internet/TV/phone package.

Supposed to be a nice package where you can record tv shows in one room and watch them from any room.

Just changed to the iphone. It is the coolest toy, except for 375 gal of salt water. When you get the system dialed in, I highly recommend it. According to Ed, there are some draw backs, but loads of fun.

By the way,

Slept soundly with the window open last night, 50 degrees. Should be all the way up to 78 degrees today.

Howdy from the woods of rural Maine !!!!!

I was in Little Rock Wednesday night - low of 57, high of 81... hmmm...

The only better time to go to Maine would be October, when the leaves are turning...

;) The only float valves in our house are located in our toilet tanks... so when they fail (and they will), no harm done... :D

Seriously, what size tubing does that valve shut off? There are no details in the listing...

I use 1/4" tubing in the RO/DI system.

BTW I dont trust mine 100% either, i shut off the ro/di valve when i notice its done, the float valve is just a REALLY good backup plan.
