Is there thread anywhere that lists what clowns will host which specific anemones? Im thinking about getting a pair of mis-bar perculas (maybe mis-bar ocesslaris, dont remember which one the fish store had?) and want to get a anemone to host them.

You'll have to dig for it but I know it's been mentioned before by Todd or one of the other experienced anemone keepers.

You know, I even checked for that recently and couldn't find it either, I usta could!LOL
I was wondering if it got moved?

The list is all over the net and usually they differ from site to site. My experience is that most clowns, if they're going to host, will host with almost any anemone if their preferred one is not there. Perculas aren't supposed to host n BTA's but I've had luck with that. Of course, right after I put a Mag in with them they abandoned the BTA and went for the Mag.

They may vary from site, but I did trust the list that was here, can't say that about every site.
Yes, many clowns will accept unnatural hosts, but some people like to at least try or know what the natural hosts would be, and it gives a greater chance of success.
On a side note, many of us have had percs lose their black color from being in an unnatural host, specifically BTA's

Hmmmm the FAQ seems to have left the building :)

Well no worries. I have the original file so I can host it myself if need be. Here it is:

Bonsainut to the rescue!
That is the list I was searching for, and it has now been bookmarked.
I didn't realize it was you and Marina P that put this list together, thank you for doing so, your list has helped me a great deal and many times.

It is a little out of date - we wrote it 7 years ago :) I have been thinking of re-writing the entire thing, partly because there is new information, and partly because my own knowledge has increased and I have access to better books and papers :)

It is funny to see how far and wide this document has spread over the last few years. I see excerpts from it all over the place :)

Right on!
Well apparently we need a new sticky w/ this info, and an update would be nice.
BTW, I saw one of these lists call the Malu less colorful than most host nems, can't say I agree w/ that comment.

I'll have to look for it :) Can't say I agree with it either :) I think there are more or less "colorful" clown anemone individuals out there, but even the dullest clown anemone, when really healthy, looks awesome in my opinion.

It was on the breeders registry page.

Heteractis malu. A sand burrowing anemone regarded as less attractive than most species.

Like Dave, I love H. malu. I like to keep smallish reeftank and Malu is just perfect in a 20-30 g tank

Back in. The last person who was hosting it either deleted it or the link was corrupted. So we had to delete the link.

Thanks.
