I found some red bugs on one.of my acros. I have a bottle of iodine someome gave me from a club meeting. How do I dip it? Add iodine to saltwater? How much iodine? I heard this sometimes isnt 100% effrctive vs these bugs. Anyone suggestions? Thanks.
I think a Bayer dip will get rid of them but I'm not sure. Bayer is used at a dip only and not an in tank treatment. I'm not sure on the specifics but it should come up on a google search.
it's funny because I have a camera and I was taking pictures of my coral and it's the only reason I could see those pests(ill post the pic later its cool) on one of my pieces. I went out of town and came back after about 4 days and could see the pests with my eye all over the coral they multiplied and now I tried to look at the rest of my corals and I don't see any of the pestd on other. I read they like certain smooth acros. so I figured id dip this one in the bayer and I bought a yellow clown goby to possibly kill the rest if there are any and yeah I would assume they're in my tank on another call is well maybe I just can't thanks for all the help everyone I'll let you know how it goes
Yep, Thats red bug. The in tank treatment has always been Interceptor until recently when the factory closed. See if you can locate some on the forums or from your Vet. Its actually dog heartworm pills.
