Long Tentacle Anemone

I purchased a Long Tentacle Anemone about two months ago (as a future host to my False Perculas). It's about 4 or 5 inches across but its tentacles are no more than about an inch long. I feed it a piece of shrimp once a week.
Is the tentacle length normal and will grow in time because it's not living up to its name? A friend though it was a Seabae (sp?) but it has a red "foot" and it likes where I put it in the sand bed (both typical of LTAs that I have read).
Thanks

Here's a photo taken after I got it when it was about 2" diameter.

My LTA prefered to anchor it's foot in the rockwork under the sand. And yes, increase the feedings to see if you can get it to recover. Good luck!

I had one that was bleached just as bad -- if not worse. It took about 2 months for it to make a full recovery. It doesn't always work out, but if you are lucky it can recover. Going to have to feed it more often, but make sure the pieces are nice and small. Also, what lights do you have? If I have read your post correctly you have already had it for 2 months? Does it still look that bad?

It looks about the same -- the tentacles are a sort of bluish white. It is the same as in the photo only a little bigger -- around 3" diameter. At the moment it is fully retracted into the sand -- which it's apt to do at times. I feed it a smallish piece of shrimp (about the size of a pencil eraser). Should I do this every other day. When I do feed it, it really grabs it and pulls it in like it's hungry.
I have it in the center of my tank under a 250W MH (my lights at the ends of the tank are AI LEDs) that is on from 4:00PM until 10:00PM. When I first got it, it wouldn't stay on a rock and then I read that it likes the sand so that's where I put it and it hasn't moved.

The anemone just started emerging from the sand again and I noticed that the middle part of the tentacles are definitely a mid blue color. The tips are bluish-white as is the mouth area. I just gave it another small piece of shrimp -- which he wolfed down.

It looks like once it gets the color back it is going to be a nice blue/purple color. Good luck with it and keep us updated on it's progress.
