Longfin clownfish @ aquatic collection

Have people seen the longfin clown at Aquatic collection? If I had $225 to burn I'd snatch that thing up in a hurry!

Just went into their store this weekend after not going in for about 8 months - props on what they have going on there. They had a killer selection of fish and the staff was all super friendly/helpful. Store was busy on Sunday despite the 'light' right going on.

That is a hefty price tag for just one fish. I have seen them online for around $120-$160. I would give them $225 for a pair for sure.

How was their inventory on other designer clowns? I am looking for a pair of clowns for my 120g but its kind of a far drive for me.

They seem to carry quite a few designer clowns. I bought a pair of black and white snowflakes from them a month ago tha tjust came out of QT and are doing well.

Their stock of fish was better than aquarium concepts (Dublin) and I have long considered aquarium concepts to have the best fish selection out of the bay area stores.

Pile of snowflakes and black snowflakes. Snowflakes in general seem to be popular at the stores though -- All about fish up here in concord, Aquarium concepts in Dublin and Aquatic Collection in Hayward all have piles of them.

Not sure on seeing longfins for $120 -- on ebay its $500 for a pair

Not saying their price was outstanding, just the first time I had seen one in person and they are pretty damn cool looking. Reminds me of a fw BETA with the way the fins flutter.

That's funny, I saw it last week at AC (never had even heard of it before seeing it) and my first thought was that just because we can do something doesn't mean we should

they have single ones for $170. I have seen them with a starting bid at $120 but I cant say I have ever seen any sell for that price as I don't really watch them through.

If the one at AC is considered a medium, then that's $190 + $35 shipping on that website. So at $225, sounds like their price is competitive.

The prices on clowns fluctuates a lot. The price of Bali Aquarich clowns has dipped significantly since their introduction, but the quality has dropped as well. On the other hand, high quality Onyx clowns have held their price.

All new introductions -- such as the longfins -- are typically priced higher than what one would expect. In a year or so, if production is high and demand is low, we could see prices dip to well under $100.
