Looking for dusters(worms not the car)

Specifically looking for solid colored or interesting multicolored feather dusters. Color variants like the pinks, greens, blues etc.

Im also looking for Christmas tree worms as well.

I would very much prefer them to unattached to rocks unless it is a small frag sized rock.

Simply put, a multitiered feather duster. Each tier is increasingly smaller in diameter making its appearence to be that of a Christmas tree.

Im also looking for the red gracilaria macroalgae if anyone has it. I'm not entirely picky about species since I want it more for its branches than anything else.

So please, colored feather dusters and gracilaria anyone?

Very cool picture of the Christmas Tree worms although I haven't seen one that nice for years. It seems like 10 or 15 years ago you could get a small rock covered with different color worms on it but lately the only ones that I have seen show up in the LFS are larger rocks with only a few worms.

Just got back from Petland and they have some nice feather dusters. They have a smaller white one with a green tone that is nice.

Sorry to butt in on your thread but I have a question about feather dusters. Do they grow into those huge ones like petland has or do some just stay small? I have a rock in my refugium that has about 8 of them on it and was wondering if there was anything I need to do for them. Karen

Karen,
There are many different kinds of tube worms referred to as feather dusters; some small, some big. The little ones on your rock are probably full grown. The "huge ones" at Petland and elsewhere are giant feather dusters. Giant feather dusters usually have a tube which is quite visible. The worm retracts its crown (the feathers) into the tube when scared.

Yes these have the tube and "jump" into it but they are very small and since they are in a very small refugium I hope they plan to stay that way. Karen
