The form of that 2nd one is unusual. Seems to prefer to form coralites on the undersides of its branches. Any clue as to what species it might be?

I think elegans as well...suposed to be rare..but never seem to have nice colour.

That first one is going to need a very slow light acclimation.

I agree, the second looks very similar to A. elegans. I'm not sure how much light this species demands, but seeing as the habitat is described as "Protected steeply sloping reef edges", I would place it accordingly. Starting it lower and then slowing moving up would be an easy way to gauge how the coral reacts to different light intensities.

The first one looks like A. tenella to me. Look at the similarities between the radial corallites in Veron's example and your colony.

If it is an A. tenella, then I would advise that you minimize the amount of light that this piece is receiving until it adjusts to your system. They are found on "lower reef slopes below 40m". From the picture, the tissue already looks thin (though that could just be the image).

I was told the 2nd pic was a pichoni ill keep it in lower light i think they stay brown in color but i like the shape..

any idea what the first one is..thanks

pick them up at a LFS
