White = bad. Almost no coral is "white". White = no zooxanthelle, zooxanthelle = phytosynthetic coral food.
The coral is probably stressed out, and will return to it's normal green with pink tips in time. Make sure to turn your lights down for new coral additions, unless he had very bright lights.
white corals are the rarest, because they don't last very long
Everything is going well right now(knock on wood) corals look Amazing and are fully open. I'll have some time tonight, I'll update you guys on everything!
The very first coral I got. It has had some awesome growth. When I bought this is it was labeled as a "torch hammer coral" After gaining knowledge with this hobby this label confuses me. To be honest this coral confuses me, it shows characteristics of frogs, hammers and torches. Any input on this?
This buy was kind of dumb on my part. This is my only piece of SPS and it shows because it has shown some growth but I have never seen any opening with the coral. This is suppose to be a purple birds nest.
For those of you that has been following along this is my "all white torch coral" lol, extreme beginner question. Since I asked that question some of the purple color has started to show hopefully this makes a recovery.
ps. this a pink tipped torch coral
This has been my favorite coral purchase. This is an Australian blue hammer. The color on this is amazing and in three weeks I already see some awesome growth as well.
The end to my trio! This is my purple tip frogspawn! This coral took awhile to open up. Two weeks later and a bunch of different placements it finally found a good spot to open up!
From what ive read I got really lucky with my GBTA and it is also a huge gamble. The bubble tip has been in that spot for 2-3 months now and hasn't moved since. I love watching the clownfish host in it but if that thing starts to move my corals are toast:spin1:
