Eric,
I am following along. I just keep not posting because Marc and I constantly discuss your setup and build offline :D

It's looking really good man, keep it up. You coming to MACNA this year or are you skipping out on me again?

Sorry guys long night and my wife finally pushed me to bed or I would have been up till midnight just posting pics for my RC crowd :D

So here is the pic of the finished doors. I think they turned out great. Will get painted I think...it's up to the wife. They are not perfect by any means but they work just fine :D

quicksilver - You discuss my build offline?? Why not call me on my cell and we can all talk about it :D

Thanks. I wish I was :( I'm taking my vacation in Nashville at my uncle's (who works in Chicago) house. We are going to do some motorcycle riding in April since it is too cold to do it up here :D Some year buddy I promise. Wish I had a better jobs I'd splurge for it anyday

looking good to me, and you have them done before the tank is even installed... I know someone around here has had an issue with getting woodwork done. :D

Doors look great, especially for a "Nancy Boy" ;)

Maybe that is why they turned out my "Nancy Boy" skills :D

Yeah some people take years to finish their woodwork :D

Waiting for the mudder :( :( Hope he calls me soon :( I'm going to start mudding screw holes tomorrow night...getting impatient

I get my new couches (VERY CHEAP on a relocation sale) tomorrow...so I have furniture (old stuff) going downstairs but no finished rock :(

Hey Lunch it looks great!! I've been following your thread even if I haven't been posting. I saw you used pocket screws for the tank front, they make it so easy, I'm glad you used them.

The doors came out great too. You are moving along at a nice clip. Keep it up.

Mudding the room is not that bad, it just takes time. Mine took me about a four days, doing one coat a day. You just got to take your time.

Building your own fish room takes a while but it will be worth it in the end. I am very happy with mine.

Awesome job though!

Sorry everyone I have been crazy the last couple nights. Wife and I have one wall of paneling in our upstairs living room...God I love the 70's :( So we ripped it down and what did we find??? A crap load of scrap pieces pieced together to give the paneling something to tac to :mad2: So Wed night we ripped all of that out and cleaned up got to bed at 11:30 and up at 5:30am and then Thurs night we insulated and sheet rocked 2 walls upstairs so that when the mud guy comes he can just do those walls at the same time. Was up tilll midnight and got up at 4:40am!! :rolleye1:

The mudman (too funny) is coming tonight at 6pm to look at it. I would do it myself but I want the seams to turn out really nice. I think I could do it but would take me about 10x's as long as it would take him...plus I'm not paying for it :D

So I'll update you guys what the "mudman" says.

JB NY - One of my idols finally joins up on my adventure. Thanks for the kind words buddy. I hope it turns out 1/2 as nice as your old tank!

quicksilver - checked and replied

Ouch, at least you didn't find studs nearly burnt into like some people have.

"Plus I'm not paying for it" :D Dang you gotta love that.

Oh and glad you liked Mr. Mudman. Keep us posted.

Mudman came, saw, and went. Told me that he would double check w/ his wife as he will be doing this at night. He works for a construction guy that I know during the day. He thought it all looked nice and pretty easy and thought that we should be ready for paint about April 1st!!! I like hearing that :D

Can't wait to see some progress but for now I have the VHO's to mount on the light rack, paint the open joist in the fish room, drill sump for a return bulkhead, lots of other stuff too.

Lunchbucket

When you are done with the mudman send him my way!! I have walls that are going to need mudding and I hate doing that!

Hehehe Hopefully Mrs. Mudman gives her stamp of approval.

Your are getting closer to water! I know you'll be glad to be done with this project and have your tank up and running. (bet Mrs. Lunch will be even more proud)

Ziggy - D you pay milage and room and board?? :D

Papa - Yeah it's getting close. I hope it isn't a let down when it finally is full and done w/ all the work. I like this part where there is always stuff to do but a nice finished project is done too

Lunchbucket

LOL...I can't afford to pay someone to come in and do it much less room and board...I guess I'm stuck slinging the mud myself. LOL

I'm back from my two week training seminar, cracked open your thread and... No water?

 Looking good. Sorry the little projects are becoming big projects. That happens around here quite frequently...

Anytime we add to our houses, it opening a box of worms. I was going to do a corner two sided in wall project, but the thought of the lathe and plaster led me to my current build.

Good luck and it looks great.
