When I turn my light out my clown fish goes absolutely bonkers ... I have had to make a jump board so it doesn't get trapped in the rear filter compartments(nano cube tank) all my levels are fine his little mate is fine I have only had the pair for 3 weeks , is this behaviour because its changing sex maybe?? I'm a little worried he will hurt himself

seriously, he's scared of the dark. something in your tank or a previous tank probably hassles/hassled him when the lights go out. usually when clowns start hosting something they settle down. i would look for something for them to host or watch your tank for a while after lights out to see if anything starts pestering them.
i just got a new pair of clowns and as soon as the lights go off they both swim at the back of the tank right at the surface. they came from a larger tank full of other clownfish and larger fish so more than likely had to survive through the nights.
