Magnifica 'Balling' Behaviour

When you see these anemones in the wild, you often see them taking on a 'vase' shape, with the column extend up and just a tuft of tentacles sticking out of the top.

To answer your original question, this is quite common in the wild - particularly at sunset but sometimes even in the middle of the day. I think it has to do with light intensity - and the changing from light to dark. I have seen it in aquariums but only really brightly lit ones.

I only have 2 small Mags in my system but they both ball up regularly....I figured they were sleeping or something as they tend to do it at lights out?
