magnifica's under t-5's

I have a couple of mags under halides. I have never tried one under T5 or any florescent lighting. I dont think that I would. All 3 of my mags have moved/climbed right under the halides.

I had a mag for years, he perched about 8" under a 250w MH. T5s are just not intense enough. It would be ill advised to try

If you never had t-5s you would be very surprised on how intense they really are. especially if you overdrive them. I have them on my 75 and I burn my lps on the bottom of the sand bed. I have seen t-5 out par some 250 watt bulbs within reason.

I would much rather run T5s - I have used them and like them better, But my experience is my anemones do better and have better color under MH. T5s put out light in a very broad area. Magnificas in particular need the intensity of MH; If you never kept a ritteri you would be surprised how much light they need

One of my favorite things about MH and Magnifica is that a point source keeps them from wandering as much, which is pretty helpful. I use both MH and T5 and they certainly seek out the highest point to the nearest MH.
