Are proud to announce a very important product tie up.

Aqua illumination LED lighting systems, probably the most advanced LED lighting system on the market today, now is fully controllable through the ProfiLux range of controllers.

The ProfiLux range of controllers now works directly with the aqua illumination system providing you with probably the most comprehensive array of lighting control available.

Both GHL and ourselves know this important tie up brings a complete new level of lighting options to the GHL profiLux owner and advances both product ranges further ahead of anything else.

You can view one of these systems working with ProfiLux at MAX this weekend at the Reef Geek stand.

The control accessories will be available throughout our retail network within a few weeks

I am sure many users will be looking at this new concept also.

Especially more so now the ProfiLux is now the official controller for Aqua Illuminations.

If you get a chance get to MAX, you will be blown away with what the ProfiLux can do for the light unit and visa versa.

These units have a built in Controller right? So when using the Profilux is it by-passing the built in controller?

I see that they are sold built-to-order does that mean it could be built without the the installed controller to save costs and then just have our Profilux control it?

There is a new design coming out being launched at MAX, this I understand will be different.

The ProfiLux will be the controller for this unit.

That will be really cool if they come out with a barebones system that connects exclusively to a Profilux.

What the interface used between it and the Profilux?

Basically yes thats it in a nut shell. This is an important and exclusive tie up of intercompany technology.

Connection - special wired RS232 cable, that simple that affordable

The cables will be carried by all GHL retailers.

For the actual light units please contact Chris

He can answer that question for you directly.

Sorry above email wrong

Please use

support@aquaillumination.com to contact Ai for information regarding the Ai LED system.

To answer a question in more detail above, the light units do not have integral controllers, they originally relied on an external devise which the ProfiLux now replaces in full, providing a much greater level of control as you would expect from profiLux

When will these be available and can an older one be linked to the Profilux with an adaptor or something?

I have ordered a Solaris but i'm waiting for it to come back into stock

They are avilable now just give Ai a shout.

The original version is ProfiLux linked and ready to go as well as the new release model.

If you have a ProfiLux I would seriously get this unit, you would be missing out so much otherwise, if you are in the market for LED it does not make sense (my oppinion only) to purchase something this big that cant be linked.

Chris told me:

Our lights have a RS232 interface standard, so you can choose to simply use the ProfiLux in place of our external controller. It works very well.

These look like nice units, I really like the upgradability

Taken from their website:

Modular Upgrades
Your needs as an aquarist can change, and the AquaIlluminationâ"žÂ¢ system is designed to make change easy. Our modular design allows you to order upgrade packages as your needs evolve. Whether it's to increase the length of your system or to get the latest in LED technology, our modular approach allows you to upgrade without losing your current investment.

Will these work in conjuction with the profilux sunrise leds?

if you have firmware 4.00 from 03/25/2008 you maybe already discovered the Aqua Illumination support...
Until now it's only implemented in the ProfiLux itself (support for ProfiLuxControl will come soon): press sun key - scroll to special lamp -> there you can activate the AI support
After enabling this the ProfiLux starts to send control commands to the AI lamp over the RS232 port.

Will we still be able to run the View 2 and the SMS unit when they come out though?

Not the View II I will have to check on the SMS

The main concideration when we implemented this tie up was to look at ways of seperating the ProfiLux lighting from the ProfiLux paremeter control and as such the GHL ProfiLux light II has become the standard controller for Ai.

That being said, of course with the ProfiLux's shared design of software across its range, the Ai then became also programmable to the rest of the ProfiLux's range of controllers, giving full user flexibility.

Although early days at present there is also talk of the Profilux becoming inbedded into later generation Ai systems thus increasing the options further for a user to choose from.

So as you can see much thought has been put into this for the user and alot of flexible options giving the user many choices of control.

the SMS module will have 3 RS232 ports:
- one to the ProfiLux
- two for connection to PC, View or in this case the AI lamp

-> YES
