Poor bugger, RIP. He jumped the tank yesterday while I was away.

Sooo, to get another pair started can I add a Juvi CB Ocellaris for my female True Percula? Or do I need a juvi Percula?? It would be great if I could go with the CB ocellaris for obvious reasons.

I was referring to a Captive Bred Ocellaris clownfish, as compared to a wild caught. Obviously CB is better than WC.

That's all I meant by that.. thanks for the help :) I was pretty sure it would be okay . Just wanted to clear it up.

sorry, misinterpreted which part was obviously better. I certainly agree that CB is far superior to WC!

Well I went out yesterday and got myself a juvi tank bred Ocellaris. While I acclimated him the female swam and waited patiently around the bag, just waiting for him to be dumped in . I put him in and she instantly started chasing the clown around and giving the little guy a hard time so soon. After a while she left the clown alone and it kept to it's own side of the tank.

How long exactly does it take before they actually become a pair?? I knwo there is no certain amount of time, but roughly? He's a nice clown, nice vibrant orange body and perfect bands.. as nice as an Ocellaris get IMO (I'm not a huge false perc fan)

It's hard to say; the more aggressive she is the quicker he will submit usually. When I added the male in my current clarkii pair she nearly tore through the bag to get to him when I was floating him in the tank. Needless to say, he submitted quite quickly.

The two juvie vanuatu clarkii that I got as same sized small fish took about 4 months to pair up. After about 6 months she finally let him into her anemone, no breeding behavior yet.
