Hey Mark, What fish do you have in your 180gal tank now these days? Can you post a list please?

Centropyge joculator
Black Zebrasoma
Acanthurus dussumieri
Siganus magnifica
Cirrhilabrus rhomboidalis
Cirrhilabrus jordani
Pseudocheilinus ocellatus
Pseudanthias dispar
pair of Pseudanthias squamipinnis
trio of Pseudanthias bartlettorum
pair of Doryrhamphus dactyliophorus
Chelmon rostratus
Valenciennea puellaris
half dozen of Chromis viridis

Off hand, I think that is it. :)

Chad, The only picture i have is from the day I put it into the tank. It is a beautiful fish.

Chad, The duss is a great fish. It seems to be buddies with the magnificent. They just kind of cruise the tank together.

I have not had any problems with my wavy seas yet. I am aware of the the problems people are having. I am not really pushing enough water through them to make a difference. If they go, I will just leave them off the tank.

I have not taken any FTS for awhile, but the tank is definitely filling in. My schedule has been really busy and I am not really spending much time on the tank these days. Jim said if I took two pictures, he would stich them together for me.

Offers still on the table homeboy :D

If I can't do it, I'll my graphic designer at the office do it ;)

Mike, the wavy sea motor burns out; from what I've read it has to deal mostly with moisture, but that is neither here nor there. They can all the cool gadgets, but if they don't work, thats not cool.

To top it off, the people that were having problems were not getting any response in help. There was a thread in the lighting and equipment forum. A lot of people have been having the same problem and some even mentioned that the origional company closed their doors. I do not know if this is the case, but that was the rumor I saw in a few different threads. I hate adding flames to the fire without knowing the facts for sure, but that is what I had heard from a few reliable sources.

Thanks bro, I might try to get a couple shots of the tank tonight after sushi and see what we can do with them. :)

My tank has hit a quandry. I noticed what I thought were a couple bite marks on thursday evening. I finally got around to dipping the corals that I saw were having a problem this morning. Needless to say that after 30 mins in a Levamisole chloride bath and some turkey basting, my nemisis for having an addictive personality has caught up with me.

I now have three options in battling the AEFW. I could set up a stable holding system and battle them and let the display be acroless for 6-8 weeks. I could do a pull and dip method where I dip all of them on a weekly basis and try to break the life cycle; or I can just throw everything in the garbage.

I am not going to overreact and make this decision today. I know that they can be beat, but I do not know if I want to mess with it.

I just knew that I wanted to let the cat out of the bag. I have learned that it is much easier to deal with anything after discussing it amoung friends than keeping it a sceret. I once learned that you are only as sick as your secrets.

I only noticed the affects on a couple of my corals in a particular area, but I am not that stupid to believe that they are "only on few corals".

I dip everything that comes inbound, but what has always really scared me is that there is no known precauction for their eggs and there is not much information on their life cycle as well.

I would not wish this upon anyone, even to those who would wish this upon me. It's a sad day in our house; my wife doesn't even know what to say to me. It's as much her tank as it is mine. All she keeps saying is "what are you going to do"? The only problem is that I just want to turn off the lights and pour bleach in the tank.

Ah ****. Sorry to hear it Mark. Man, as much as I would like to tell you to stick with it, I know what I would do.:( Hopefully, you have more strength than I do.

Sorry to hear about this Mark... if you have the space, I think your 1st option is the best option.

Or alternatively, just turkey blast them daily (like what Sanjay is doing) and hope the hungry wrasses will pick up on them

:eek2: I hate to hear this Mark. I think you are doing the right thing though by discussing w/ others and doing some research before deciding what to do.

Here is another option.......start a frag pack FS thread and go acroless for 6-8 weeks

Sorry, JK of course. I've never had this problem so I don't know how much help I would be but....I'd definitely pull the infected ones and try and treat them in a seperate tank via either tank dosing or dips. If they are real bad off don't be afraid to be a pioneer and be certain to log what you are doing. Who knows maybe something can be learned.

Good Luck,

Chad

Wow, that sucks, Mark. Sorry to hear. I know it must be hard with all the recent hard work but don't through in the towel and bleach the tank. You have an awesome tank and I'm sure you'll get passed it.

Well for starters I think you made the right choice by saying you've got them. More people are going to be able to learn from your experiences, and your choices, then if you'd said nothing. As for your choices, #1 sounds like the best option.

Regardless of which decision you take, please document it. The more we as a community know, the more we can fit the pieces together, and hopefully start to make more forward strides in beating AEFWs.
