Personally I've never used Levimisol, I just pulled those #'s out of reading. Honestly I was too scared to try it after doing all the reading. Good to know you gyus have had better results.

I've only had first hand experiance with TMPCC, and to my knowledge have not introduced AEFWs. GL, keep your head up man, your tank rocks and youll be back up and acros jammin' in no time! Think on the bright side, this will give you some time/ability to feed more and allow your LPS and lil joc to blow up! :D

That is terrible,

I feel your pain, keep your head up and FIGHT THOSE BASTARDS!!!!!!

If you need anything I am still not back to work and could come over anytime to lend a hand.

I have some extra tanks to if you need some more QT,s you are more than welcome to them.

Mark, any idea where they may have came from? How long do you think you have had them? Did you find any eggs?

I also liked Ace's system setup. When I treated I did not have the equipment to setup a system like his. I wish I did, as I think i would have cut down on my loses. I found Levimisol to be harsh when I used it. The loses I had were when I was using Levimisol as a dip. TMPCC was hard to get at the time and I did switched to it during treatment, never had any loses with it.

I believe they are very recent in the tank. Tim and I were looking at the tank last night and to be totally honest, my colors are excellent and you would never know unless I said something.

I am not even worried of where they came from. I have moved on from "problem" mode and and I am living in "solution" mode.

I did not find any eggs, but I have not done a full inspection of my all of my corals. They seem to be only on a few corals in one area for now.

What worries me is that a friend who has been battling them as well mentioned to me that they crawl down onto the rocks during the day and that it is best to dip when the lights are off. This make sense becuase when the lights are on that means there are more predators swimming around the tank.

Whats the latest, Mark?? Did you figure out a plan of attack??

To be honest Ian, I am just gathering information right now. I am basically taking it one day at a time as I do not want to make any rash decisions without knowing which way I want to go.

Keep your head up Mark.

I'll be tearing down my tank officially tomorrow and setting it up next tuesday. I hope all goes well.

So heres an update: (sorry to hijack)

mmm... its almost 12 30 and I just got everything settled in a temporary tank. It's just the bare minimum. I'm a little nervous as I afraid of whole situation. I hope it doesn't end in a disaster. I don't quite have a good record with tank moves. :/

The water is a little cloudy but so far all the corals show good pe. I'm going to pick up some carbon tomorrow or do a quick water change.

6 days til I get everything back in. (makes me nervous- esp with this sac weather.)

Good luck Jay. I remember the last move you had :( I am hoping that this one goes better than the last one.

Sorry to hear Mark!!! I lost my entire LPS collection a few years ago and just about gave up so I know where your coming from.

Coral RX is a good product but I have found it needs to be dosed about 1/4( length of time and amount of product) more then the directions and you still need to blow the coral off.

I dip all corals that come into the store( that are known to have pests) with coral RX and/or Revive (they smell like the same product). I have seen AEFW just fall off and then again I have seen stubborn little bastards hang on for 15+ minutes using these products.

I think the key is not letting the population get out of control before something is done.

What ever you decide to do just do it right and don't half @$$ it just to get the display tank looking purty again. With the health of your system and corals I don't think you will have a hard time erradicating them, just time consuming.

Let me know if I can help out at all.

Rob

Thanks Rob for the good thoughts. I have been doing a lot of research on the polyclad known to hobbyist as the notorius AEFW and I still have not been able to locate a true classification for them.

I can say that over that last couple of weeks its been a nice little break. I have only checked my alk twice in the last two weeks and that has been it. I have cut my lighting back to 3 hours a day for all 4 halides and have had the attitude of "set it and forget it".

I have not came up with any concrete decision on exactly what I am going to do. I did grab about 7-8 corals last weekend and went through a few different dips and no AEFW fell off. This also included the fresh water dip for 60 mins. I took those acros from different areas of the tank to help diagnose the infestation. It does just seen that only 6-7 corals are infested at this time.

I know that I will lose corals if I decide to set up a QT system. I really don't care anymore about my losses. Throwing away corals has provided me a sense of freedom and has allowed me to think a little more clearly about what I need to do.

I have spoken to a lot of people that are just basting their corals and even though they have assured me that "it only takes basting your corals 1-2 times a week", I do not want to think in the back of my head down the road that I should of done something different. I know myself very well and I know that I am not satisfied with mediocricy. It may cost me a couple thousand dollars in corals, but it will also give me a chance to concentrate on the corals I really enjoy.

I have a feeling that a few other corals will end up in the garbage by the end of this three day weekend as well.

Rob, Do you have any extra coralrx? I have done some research to find out it is very close to revive, but just a lot cheaper.
