I think you could get by without the wavy seas unless you just want to drop the extra cash. My deal is that I do not push enough flow through them to really see if they are advantageous or not.

Good stuff Mike. Shoot me a pm with your ideas and I'm sure I can help bounce off a few ideas.

Mark I have read through almost ever post now (just dislocated a few fingers mtn biking, so I have the time it just takes longer to type) and would like to ask yet another question...

Since you just dealt with this:

As I get my Lee Mar up and running what would be a for sure way to check for AEFW's? I have no reason to think that I have them but they seem all but invisible. Would a lugols (don't have any access to prescriptions) dip be enough to check a few corals such as A. valida? What first tipped you off to the problem?

thanks
Michael

Michael
I really did not have anything that tipped me off. I was in the tank one night and noticed a bite mark on one of my corals. I pulled it and saw a couple more. I pretty much new it was not a good thing at that point. I decided to do a dip in levamisole to make sure and the rest is history.

I am not completely sold on Lugols. I do think that revive bt TLF is a very safe product and does just as well, if not better, than some of the more harsh medications out there.

The only sure way is to check every piece but dipping them and inspecting each one, but if you do not have any suspects then you should pick a sample of your corals and start from there.

Sorry to hear about your accident. Good luck in the rehab.

thank you... I find out tomorrow how bad it really is (mounting frags is difficult one handed :) ) and thanks for the responses... glad that your tank is again doing well... you have to feel good about fighting your way through the worst plague in reef keeping and were able to find light at the end of what must have seemed like a very dark tunnel.

Thank You for the kind words Michael. I am very happy with the outcome up to this point. I met a lot of people through the experience and hopefully I might of helped at least one other reefkeeper through my trials. It was definitely the biggest obstacle I have had to battle and I would not wish it upon anyone.
