hey mark what is the box you acclimate your fish with in the previous posts?

To be honest Jay, I don't don't know what its called. Its a floating specimen container that has slits on the sides to allow water to flow in and out of the container.

I got it a long time ago and I do not really remember where I got it from. Its not something you see for sale very often.

I got one from my LFS that's made by Penn Plax. It's acrylic and rectangular in shape and also allow dividers within if you want to acclimate more than one fish. It's been pretty handy. Another good thing about mine is that not only does it have slits on the sides, there are also slits on the bottom. The slits allow water movement but most importantly, they allow food to fall out so they don't accumulate. I have another one with a solid bottom and it's a pain to get the food out without turning the whole thing upside down.

Mark- What probidio products are you using?

Brian, I have been using biodigest and bioptim every other week since November and Reefbooster since the middle of December.

Is that Jayda's? I've had no luck with that one. Got it twice from Greg and killed it twice. It's been a while though, perhaps it's time to try again.

Yep, I have heard mix responses on this piece. Many say it is very hearty, but you are the third person that have said they have had problems with it :(

Well, part of it could just be me. The first one died while the old 30 was still up. The second one slowly receded into oblivion during the early days of the 300. Now that the 300 has matured a bit, I am thinking of giving it another shot.

I guess I should have asked this too. Have you noticed any difference since you have been using them?

In some cases yes and in other cases no. I was battling diatoms after disrupting my sandbed when I moved everything back into the tank. I also had some other nuisance algae that I have not seen in the last couple of months.

As for colors, I was getting really good colors before using it and some colors have shifted for the better :) and others have lightened out some :( It is not as a drastic color shift as zeovit, tropic marin or some of the others, but it is more of a long term bacterial boost for the system.

DAYUM! i guess the Joc doesn't like the taste of meteor shower..

Thanks Nick, The joc usally hits the monties more than anything else. It just goes along and nips ay the rocks but since they are encrusted on the rocks, he hits them once and awhile as well. It doesn't do any damage to the corals though. I have been thinking of fragging up the meteor shower as it has totally encrusted that rock including the underside :p
