If it has only been a week, I would not even worry. Having a canary coral to help understand the tank is worth a brown coral everyonce and awhile IMO. I have somecorals that help with mag, some that help with po4 and others that help with my alk.

Yep im still getting to know the ways of all my sps in my new system lol. Its funny i have 2 planas that are doing the same thing, but everything else recovered real fast lol. Wish i lived in Cali would love to see your tank in person.

You're getting a lot better coloration out of your mystic than I'm getting out of mine... I guess I've had it almost 2 months and the base is just now starting to darken up like yours... :) How does yours do growth wise???

I also probably have more nutrients right now as well. Its seems to be an average grower. It is in competition with and acro and I am sure that since the acro wins the battle, it would grow quicker if it was more by itself.

I am not sure what this is going to do long term, but I like red corals with orange eyes so this is one project I decided to take on :)

Happy 4th of July

Its been awhile since I have really had a chance to pay attention and there were some fireworks going on tonight. Even though I got a new lens and camera just to photograph the jocs (ok, maybe not the only reason), they still are going to take some practice to get some better shots.

Here they are (Barry White music playing in the background) about 15 minutes into their dance

Thanks Mike, I shot that one with the 50mm. The 105mm is a bit to detailed for shooting quickmoving objects. The shot has to be perfect.

Thanks Alicia. How is the new flooring coming along :)

The floor is done. We are now dealing with some wall repair from taking out the wood burning stove and tile work behind it and painting some areas on the walls (primarily behind the old tanks). Then we need to replace all the baseboards. I will be ready at that point to set up the new tanks. I have my new sand soaking, I am about to work on building some cool rock structures and getting them soaking next. I am hoping to have all the work done in the next 2 weeks. The bummer is that we have to finish up fixing Granny's house completely so we can rent it out. We have sat on it way to long and need to get it rented, but first we have to finish it as well. It just gets crazy trying to do everything a few hours each night and then on the weekends when I would rather be at the lake water skiiing.

The Peace Coral looks wicked happy!!!!!!That thing grows very well when it is happy.

Sorry to hear of your recent troubles. I am sure things will right themselves over the next month or so and your params will settle back to that sweet spot.

I went and checked out the Solana over at Exotic. It looks nice enough for what I want to do with a small tank. I think I will set up one of my old mini PFO pendants over it with a nice little MH DE bulb and an IceCap ballast. Hopefully it will run well and cause me no problems...yea, right, hehehe.

I think, so far, I have decided to sell three of my fish when moving them to the new tanks comes. The Lineatus and the Borbonius pair. They are alright, I just want some different anthias in the new tank, something a bit brighter, maybe less agro when they grow up. I pretty much see issues down the road when they get large. The lineatus is always trying to jump and recently busted a bulb when he jumped and splashed the MH bulb. I just see him flying out one of these times to be found as fish jerkey :(. I don't want that.

I am looking forward to a visit soon :D.

Alicia, I am glad that things are coming along with the new tank. Just let me know when you are ready for acros and whatever else :p

Really cool pic of the Jocs. Do you think that they will lay eggs? Did you see them doing this :smokin: later?

Thanks Dan, the tank is looking pretty good still so I might try to get some more shots of them later this week. As for eggs, I'm just happy that they did not kill each other during the courting :p
