Mars Aqua Chinese LED review (Ebay)

I don't know how that functions but it may, if it's anything like an apex

Well I looked into what the apex does and I would assume there will be one at some point in time, if not I'm sure there will be a z wave device sooner than later that I will be able to use using your pictures. appreciate it.

Well I opted to get 4 of them for the 245 gallon, 72 Long x 30 Deep x 24 tall. figured the middle divider on top would block quite a bit of the light if I went with 3.

I was also curious, it sounds like most people use open top setups, does the glass mess with the lights or why no tops? our is open top right now, but she talked about getting glass tops so there isn't as much evaporation.

From what I've read and been told glass tops become very difficult to maintain due to salt creep and hard water.

Right now I have off brand black boxes on it with very little growth over the pass year

How strong have you been running the lights? Are they providing the spectrum needed? The lights referred to in this thread are basically off brand black boxes but they are definitely capable of growing even SPS coral.

The Glass tops cut down on light penetration but more importantly the closed top hinders gas exchange

I run mine at 70 blue and about 30 white

Interesting, I'm not sure why you aren't seeing growth. Could it be something lacking in the water? I would post an independent thread and inquire about the growth rates of your specific corals before buying a new light...

Isaac-did you replace any of the greens as well? Was thinking about taking those out for UV diodes.
What color whites did you get?

I ordered some more 10000k so im going to switch out the greens and reds cuz im not a fan of them lol the green shows up way too much in my water column in my opinion. Im going to try and leep my white channel mainly white with the original blues. And then im changing some of the blue channel leds to UV. Maybe like 5 or 6

I've been using mine for a month now and they are awesome. My corals really are thriving and some that were suffering before are starting to come back in a spectacular way

Isaac, I just ordered 50 of the 6500k and 50 10k. Also 20 of the uv. I have 4 of the 300watt fixtures. I'll test one and see how I like some changes then may do the same to some other leds fixtures I have. My tank is 145"x32x43 so I'll see how the 4 cover, then work from there
