Mars Aqua Chinese LED review (Ebay)

Thanks, money wise I am not really concerned about that and have been leaning towards (2) 165s anyways. That will probably be the route I go.

Would I be able to replicate that look? Coverage?

I looked at these but no control app, they look all manual.

I personally would suggest considering double the amount you've currently planned on and use two per 24x24 section based on what I am seeing on my 180. Especially coming from 3x250w MHs.

Glad someone responded to this... I looked at your build thread you seemed happy with the output and coverage there? But you might have been using a different led system?

Anyone else with thoughts on this or something similar for a 180?

Got a couple of these LED lights that I got with my tank when i got it second hand, decided to set these up but they Don't have dimmers on them.
They have no names or anything any where.
Have opened it up but the drivers have no names or details on it, only details I found are on the photos attached. Can I add a dimmer to these? Anyone know what drivers they are?
Cheers

Do u by chance have the contact info for that seller? Want to find out if they have larger units and can custom do a few items. Thanks

I'm going against the grain here. Yesterday I took my 2 mars units off my tank. They have been running since May, well I should say I purchased a second unit when I upgraded from a 40B to a 90 RR. So the first unit was running since June '15 prior to the upgrade. So one unit doesn't have the same lighting as the other. I have tried everything and the purple shade is different as is the white shade. I've put my Nova Extreme pro back on until I decide which direction to go.

Here is a link to the seller I used and he has a variety still.

Forgive me, it's a massive thread, but does anyone have a link or specs on the 165w units drivers? I need to replace one side. Thanks...

Hi there!

I'm waiting for 3x of this: (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262543989437)

The stock led layout are as follow:

What leds do you guys change on this layout?

So I'm looking at getting back into the game. I had a slab leak that basically soaked the bottom of my old stand and made it...shall we say...structurally unsound. It was a mess. But since I've been out of the hobby, these little things have popped up. I read the first ten pages and they seem pretty safe. No fires or anything which is always my biggest concern with any product from China that you get on ebay (granted they're on Amazon now too).

Would the 300 watt unit give a 75 gallon (standard 48" x 18" variety) sufficient coverage, or would the corners of the aquarium be too dark?

These are had to pass up with all the good reviews and price. Are there any DIY mounts to the top of the unit and back of a tank that don't use the hangers?

I have three mars Aqua on my 6' 125g. They work great but you will need to buy a timer, since they don't come with internal ones. The nice thing about the mars Aqua is you can daisy chain them, because some lights you can't. Good luck!

Has anyone tried replacing these bridgelux epistar diodes with some nicer cree or Philips diodes? Are they compatible? I'd pull every red and replace with Philips pc amber and replace all the greens and neutral whites with Philips rebel es lime. Anyone tried those in the black boxes?
