Mate for C. interrupta

I love that bandit and clarion photo! Just lovely!

Wayne, as soon as my bandits start spawning again I'll try to raise a baby for you! It's funny that from what I'm hearing baby bandits are more popular than baby interrupta. Hopefully we'll have both.:spin3:

I had planned to move Faith into Fabio's tank today but got home late and didn't want to rush it. So Sat. will be the big day. I plan on having a divider in for a few days and if all goes well I'll remove the divider Tues. or Wed when I'm around to make sure she doesn't need rescuing. I'll post video of Saturday's interaction on the blog and let you know here when it's up.

Very cool video. Thank you for the update Karen. Looks like a love triangle has formed :)

That would be sweet if I could get a captive bred pair of bandits...a dream come true.

Very nice Karen, I agree with Wayne, I'd even be willing to drop my temp to accommodate their needs one day. Not sure I could ever pick a favorite between the two, the interuptus are equally amazing.

I'm still uploading video of todays fish introduction to the blog. There should be four videos when it'd done.

Poor Fabio is a confused guy after today. I ended up moving the bandits to their own tank and leaving Fabio and Faith alone in the 180. Fabio is staying away from Faith and I think he's missing Mattie the female bandit. I hadn't realized that Fabio and Mattie had such a strong relationship with Mattie being the more dominant of the two. I feel bad right now for separating them but I think it was an unhealthy relationship anyway! I'm going to give it a week and see if Fabio develops an interest in Faith. Faith really seems to like him but for some reason he's afraid to be near her. She has not displayed any of the submissive postures towards Fabio and maybe that's why he seems unsure of her (or him?).

This is like a fish soap opera...I'm 'hooked'! Yup, I went there :)

Poor Fabio!
Bandits seem to have a way of not only seducing their owners but other fish too...:lmao::lmao:
the interactions between my larger clarion and larger bandit, both under 4 inches, does not seem to be based on aggression, they just really seem to enjoy interacting with each other... :inlove:

For those of us that have never seen spawning behavior for Interrupta, this was a treat. Thank you Karen.

That is amazing. I have a trio of Jocs in my reef. Every night two of them chase each other and exhibit behavior similar to the posted video. Being a rookie I thought they were just playing. A friend stopped over and mentioned that they were spawning but I thought he was joking.

Anyway my jocs do this routinely every night around 10pm as the lights are getting dim. When they grow tired of chasing each other, I could have sworn I saw one light up a cigarette.
