Mated pair of CBS shrimp @ Eddies

Krazy

In Memoriam
if anyone is interested....

I just traded in a "mated pair" of coral banded shrimp, yes they are actually mated.... the female is about to pop, she has a huge belly full of egg's and for some reason she took the claws off the male... (something with mateing maybe?) anyways I just dropped them off about 730pm so they should still be there tommorow am...

:)

I'm trying to get a mated pair of cleaner shrimps (they are more interesting to me).. I may get another mated pair of CBS shrimps though if I cant get the cleaners...

Cleaners are hermaphrodites. Any two will do.

Really ?

I thought that only pertained to the fire shrimp...

Interesting !!! :)

Cleaners, Fire shrimp and peppermint shrimp are all in the genus Lysmata. All are hermaphrodites.

See I really do learn something everyday, I knew the Fire and cleaner's were in the same family but I did not know that the cleaners could change sex like the fire's and pair up !!!

Good info, thanks Matt !!!

Yeah but I bet they never have to sit at home alone on Fri. or Sat. nights. It's always date night then!!
