Kevin no problem.

Dhnguyen, thats what I though, I just want to know for sure since I havent try the G2 yet

Seagirl, the Seio controller can do the maxijet 400 through the maxijet 1200 so if you need a wave maker I would sugest using it.

How much stronger is the flow from a stock surflow mod on MJ 900 vs the Koraline K2?

I think it will be stronger wider than the k2. What I don't like about the koralia is its too big and it put out 4 separate streams instead of 1 wide partern stream of water like the sureflow. Also some of my friends koralia shocked them because it developed a leak inside the motor.

The koralia shock thing was recalled and is no longer an issue. So kids, if you have an old koralia - trade it in.

I have a k2 and a sureflow. The sureflow blows the k2 away. No comparison.

Waiting for my GS2's to arrive...

Thanks for the responses...

Literally? :)
Would you say twice as strong but less than a K3? I am thinking of getting 2 to replace the K2 at the same location but I am worry my SPS won't be able to take it (approx 6" to the first conlony)

I guess it depends on what SPS you have. But I wouldn't put 2 sureflows in the same place you had 1 K2. Single sureflow should be plenty. I don't have experience w/K3, sorry.

If you have any maxijets layin' around the mod kit is cheap enough that it's worth the try...

Just using numbers - a maxi 900 is 77% of a 1200, a 1200 = 1600gph (GSII medium & SureFlow 1600).............that gives us 1232gph for a maxi 900 >= a K4. With the highflow (Dumas 3004) no contest, there is no Koralia that can even come close.

That's just by the numbers.............but a reasonable guess.

I do have a few MJ hanging around but they are old and the letterings are gone on them so I have no idea which model they are.....

Sorry I didn't make it clear...I am thinking of replacing the K2s that are place on each side of the tank that are face towards the acros.....

Try one anyway. I don't think it matters much which MJ. You'll probably still see an increase in flow, and it is easy enough to swap the mod from MJ to MJ. Just keep moving it until you find one you like. I don't think you'll regret it.

USC the 400-900 spin at the same speed, except the 1200 spins faster
i thought the mj1200 just could spin a bigger prop.

As pointed out all but the 1200 spin at the same speed. Difference is the windings in the motor. Each larger one (400....600) has more windings = it can turn a larger impeller = more flow. The 900 & the 1200 use the same impeller - difference is the speed at which they turn (which is why they are so close in performance).

Yep, just a bit more "oomph" than the 900. The 900 can often turn the larger prop......but it's hit or miss & might not be as reliable long term.

I have tested the SureFlow 1600 with both MJ900 & MJ1200...not significant difference.

I have also tried connect it to a JBJ accela with sureflow 1600..it is much quieter than MJ when connected to a JBJ Wavemaker Duo..

Actually they all spin at the same RPM but their motors vary on strength with the MJ1200 having the most torque.

DOH - what the heck was I thinking..................60hz = 60hz = 60hz.

Nevermind...........old age must be making me simple minded :D

Thanks for the correction.
