Maxspect LED owners!!!

Fish Street prices and US/Canada prices are in line... FishStreet is not authorized to sell to North America now that US and Canada distributors have been set up. There was a temporary spike in the pricing from Maxspect but this has settled down. Plus you now have warranty support without having to ship back to China!

why would they, the prices are crazy now.

At $579 MSRP for a G2-160w it compares quite well to the much more expensive AI units! You have to pay a heck of lot more just to dim your lights. I like the simplicity of timers and don't need the dimmer effect. That being said if Maxspect comes out with dimmable controllers I bet they will still be less than the AI's.

I paid $467.00 shipped for the G2-160w in June from F-S. ($1400 for three.)

Yeah unfortunately those days are gone I think now that Maxspect has gone main stream. Fishstreet was obviously selling at near cost to get the Maxspect word out. It's now $580 on their website and they are not selling to North America anymore... only Europe/Asia.

So here is a question, who now handles any warranty issues from people (like myself) that purchased from HK? Do we work with the US distributors or do we still have to send things back and deal with FS in HK?

I am not glad I got on board early I contacted FS and was able to get the G2-160 shipped under 5OO

But I was a month late on my skimmer :hammer:

I didn't know that the 160 was that cheap. That is actually the price of the 110. Also the ai unit alone is 559 withouth the controller so it is actually cheaper and the controller adds 70 which brings it to 629. That isn't a "much more expensive unit". The 160 g2 is 699.

The 160 price is now $579.99 not 699.99. It's my understanding that the units
were upgraded internally and thus a slight price adjustment. I know the guys at FS and they were only making a couple dollars and shooting for a quantity of units, that why the prices were lower. I'm all for the units being local now and would much rather pay a little more to have some local support if I ever have a issue with mine,.:bounce1:

I placed an order for a G2-110 yesterday with AquariumSpecialty. I received the unit about 10 minutes ago!

I am very happy with the shipment time, and I even got free shipping :)

I will post pics and my opinion on the fixture later today.

Also, while I paid more for this fixture than I would have before the US distributorship, I feel more comfortable knowing that I can call someone if I have issues. Plus warranty work will be so much easier, than if I had bought it directly from China.

Has anyone tried raising an anemone under these. I'm still introducing things in very sloooowly under my lights and dont want to waste money if people arent having the best of luck. So far so good though with everything else.

Read all 33 pages & I might have missed it.....but..........I can't seem to find the answers -

1. How long are the cords between the light housing & the driver?
2. I saw one pic of instructions that mentions lamps come back to settings - post mentions they are full on after power outage.....which is correct?
(post w/ instruction pic is here: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=17182331&postcount=667)
3. Can the moonlights be disabled?

Thanks

3. Can the moonlights be disabled?

Thanks
1. Mine is about 6 ft.
2. All on after power restored then it will restore to the settings. Say power goes out at 2a and your first set of light comes on at 11a. If power comes back at 7a, all lights are on till 11a then only the first set of light will be on. My fish did not sleep when the power came back on at midnight after it was out for six hours when I was out of town. I have an internet camera on my tank so I knew:)
3. No. If the unit is plugged in, moon light will be on when all LEDs are off.

Hope this helps!
