maxspect razors

Will they be sending them to you or would they be sent directly to the customers? I'm going nuts with anticipation :fun5:

Lol, its absolutely killing me as well! Went from "2-3 more days"......2 weeks ago to what appears to be at least another 2-3 weeks. I could have gotten them from another vendor who had them in stock at the time.........but nooooo, Ive got to be a loyal customer:jester:!!!! Lol. Seriously though, I wish we could get them sent to us directly.......as I am in Alabama and CoralVue is in Louisiana. It would probably make a good weeks difference as opposed to waiting for MD to recieve them and then ship to me.

Can you say "drop ship from manufacturer"? Yeah, the anticipation stinks but hopefully they will be worth the wait. They do look like a nice unit at this point.

I am also getting alittle frustrated with this. When I ordered this fixture on 8/28 the site said ETA about 2-3 business days. And if you continue to look at the product page on their site it still says 2-3 business days to ship as in ETA. This is for the 27" 16,000K model.

It has been over two weeks now and when I contacted them for an ETA through the live chat I was told that they would be arriving by the end of last week. Needless to say I have still not heard anything about my backorder. And now I see on here that the ETA is 2-3 weeks!?! This is a birthday present for myself from my wife. She is getting very upset that there has been no true ETA on this item and I am getting alittle frustrated myself. I could understand if when I ordered the product it said that it was a 2-3 week wait, I could also understand that if the website now said ETA 2-3 weeks. But it does not.

This build a false sense of hope in both my wife and myself that this would arrive in time for my birthday and it is also giving that same impression to anyone who has ordered the product for the last two weeks.

Is there any more updates on this or I am stuck waiting?

Thank you very much for choosing MD for your Maxspect Razor purchase, cap032. We absolutely appreciate your loyalty and apologize for the delay in supplying you with your new light fixture. Your light is shipping to us today from New Orleans and we anticipate delivery Friday. We should have an even more accurate ETA later this afternoon once they send over tracking info.

Hi, rc1626. Some items we carry are drop shipped from the manufacturer directly to customers, although that's generally relegated to slow movers, unusually large or heavy items. Our shipment from Maxspect/CoraVue was unfortunately delayed due to Hurricane Issac, although they seem to be a pretty hot commodity. We supsect supply is still getting caught up to demand.

Happy birthday, squall15! Please accept our sincere apology for the continued delays in shipment. As mentioned above, Hurricane Issac had delayed our current shipment but we've been assured it is going out today. We're hoping to have them delivered by this Friday, 9/21. We'll have tracking info later today so we'll know a more precise ETA this afternoon.

Thanks for the update MD. I spoke with the CoralVue guys a few weeks ago and fully understand that they had issues from Isaac....not their fault.....not yours. I chose MD because I discovered you, not so long ago, and have been very pleased with your prices and customer service. Cant wait to get both of my Razors!!!! :spin2:still going crazy though! lol

Thank you very much for your kind words, they are certainly appreciated. To be perfectly candid, waiting sucks... but we truly believe you'll find these lights were worth waiting for. Our staff feels these lights are one of the best aquarium products to be released in 2012. They really have to been seen in person to be fully appreciated, which, thank goodness, you'll be able to do shortly!

Thanks MD. I really don't think anyone here is blaming MD. We are all excited about a new product which a few are raving about that unfortunately we have to wait for. Like I tell my kids....patience! They will be delivered and when they are I'm sure it will be worth the wait. Thanks for the update. Your customer service is up there with the best of them.
Thanks again.

We appreciate your kind remarks. Shoppers occasionally do blame us, even when the circumstances are beyond our control. But we completely understand. We're hobbyists and online shoppers ourselves. We understand ever-changing estimated times of arrival are frustrating. It stinks in situations like this where our hands are tied, so to speak, by matters beyond our control... in this case, weather or what have you. But we certainly do not take it personal"”if you don't have thick skin, you shouldn't be in customer service! We've had to let customer service staff go in the past who didn't treat our shoppers like gold. Because without you guys & gals, there would be no us! We just try to be as forthright as possible. It's pretty clear reading this thread that aquarium hobbyists are super savvy online shoppers so there is absolutely no benefit to not being completely straight up. In this day and age, if you're not being transparent and honest with your customers, they are going to find out and tell their friends and family. We'd much rather make you happy so you'll only share good news about us with your circle!

:love2:

I believe it was Tom Petty who sang " The waiting is the hardest part"! Lol. My understanding was that CoralVue had some flooding issues to deal with, after all, they are in Slidell Louisiana, which recieved extensive flooding from Isaac. Then you have to acknowledge that many of their employees were probably dealing with desperate measures not only at work, but with their homes as well. I fully expected there to be delays and will be happy to get my Razors when I get them. Some coustomers probably dont realize what happened or at least not the extent of it. Personally, I just hope those affected by the flooding have been able to get help and get their homes taken care of. Again, much appreciation to both CoralVue and Marine Depot for keeping us as informed as you have.

I was not aware the CoralVue was in the path of the hurricane and I hope everything is Ok. I am a store manager for a major retailer and I agree totally with your comments about customer service. Without our customer we are nothing. I had something similar happen to us when one of our warehouse's was floored so bad we could not send deliveries from it for two weeks. I was a very hard time for us as most customers did not understand and just wanted their products.

One thing I can tell you is to adjust your ETA times to reflect the worst case scenario. It is better to surprise customer with a faster shipping date then to let them down when their day passes. Also if you keep customers informed via email, most will understand. But I am sure that alot of people have order this item and if they have not read this forum, then they still do not know what is going on.

Thank you for replying to my post and your honesty. Please keep us updated. I just placed another order for some random supplies that I needed, so you still have my business. You won me over from a few other websites that I used to order from with your selection and pricing. My only gripe was how long the shipping took as you are on the other side of the country, but it has always been worth the wait. Thanks again and you still have my business going forward!!!

I totally agree. I work in the service business and have found that while you may not have good news to provide, customers tend to appreciate the update.

Speaking of which, if I could trouble you for one it would be greatly appreciated.

If I remember correctly, I believe you ordered yours through MD? If so, according to Chris (CoralVue) MD will have their order by the end of this week. If so........:bounce1:Wooooohoooo. lol

Right on! We absolutely agree with you. We are actually in the midst of updating our stock status messaging along with a host of other site improvements that should make your shopping experiences at MD much better. We hope to begin rolling out the first wave of these improvements in about a month. Stay tuned!

Happy hump day, STEELERFAN747! As cap032 mentioned, Maxspect/CoralVue shipped us more Razors Monday which are scheduled to arrive here Friday or Monday. We are set to receive 30 x 120W 20" 16000K and 30 x 160W 16000K fixtures.

I ordered a 120W 16000K on 9/3, order 101135419. Can you say if one of the 30 you are receiving will come to me or are there 30 others ahead of me?

Hi, atkinsg. Thank you very much for shopping with us. You are #20 on the list, so your light fixture is indeed among those in the shipment currently in transit to us. We're still hoping for delivery Friday, but the units will need to be inspected and processed into inventory. In other words, your light will ship to you next week assuming they arrive on time and pass inspection.

I hope you're getting some 120W 10K fixtures as well.

Hi, rc1626. We have disappointing news. We spoke with Maxspect/CoralVue this morning. Here is what they told us:

"Those were delayed because of the LED supplier. It looks like we will have them at the end of October. That's when the next shipment will be in as well."

I'm glad to hear that you guys also inspect them. That make me feel a lot better and more assured, Thanks
